  1. Of course I'll bet against them as their vote is spread too thin. They come second in hard Labour seats and second in hard Tory seats.
  2. Hmmm... sounds feasible Corpy
  3. As an aside Dune, did you know that your favourite newspaper, the Express, when owned by Beaverbrook, had the knight on the front page in chains when Labour were in power and unshackled when it was a Tory government. That's changed now and I think the Express even advocated Labour in 1997 and 2001.
  4. + 1 but I have some caveats about long term dolies etc.
  5. It shut down about five years ago though!!
  6. I like the comment by Matt Crocker about developing academy players who are better rounded and with good life skills. No more little tosspots please!!
  7.
  8. Hilarious!
  9. Yes, my office is in Exchange Quay. I'm busy this week but if you're still stuck for something to do next week I'll have a beer with you Stu.
  10. That hotel you're in is five minutes from my office Stu. I'm in that complex just up by the bridge on the same side. Get your work mates to join you on a curry in the curry mile in Rusholme. That'll keep you busy for an evening. Have a look around the Lowry Centre which is quite close to your hotel. You might like Deansgate Locks for totty etc on Friday night and that's a short cab or tram ride to G-Mex. Some people like going for a drink on the 23rd floor at the Beetham Tower just to look out over Manchester.
  11. All this returning power to the people is effing populist rubbish that is the largest crock of crap going. What will happen is nothing will get done. You try and hand planning powers back to local councils and every waste management facility, power station, wind farm and industrial park will get vetoed by NIMBYS. And the rubbish will pile up around us, landfill will continue and energy blackouts will become a reality. Bloody idiots. It just shows how unprepared and irresponsible the Tories are.
  12. The title misses out the word Give. I guess this has been a bit of a rush job and the proofers had taken the day off!

    BNP

Was watching London Tonight yesterday. They had a focus on Barking: The only people saying they were voting BNP were clearly sub-educated long term dolies who have no intention of working if they can avoid it. Analysis of the seat is that Griffin is going to get caned and knows it - is apparently not going to bother too hard as he has decided his MEP post is a better bet.

    UKIP

Really, UKIP are just a band of slightly whacko eccentrics who are clubbed together under a common banner. Some are harmless, others are malevolent, none of them understand wider issues very well, they're all a bit lunatic!

I too know Bryan Gould, now of course in NZ. I went to school with his son Charles.

Labour will retain Test and Itchen. Both MPs are respected. Winchester will stay LD. Too much of a mountain for the Tories. Romsey & Southampton North and Eastleigh will clearly fall to the Tories. As I dislike Chris Huhne (a Tory by most views anyway) this is no bad thing!
  17. http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/politics/politics-headlines/tories-publish-first-ever-hard%11back-edition-of-the-daily-mail-201004132634/ The Tory Manifesto includes a plan for directly-elected local police chiefs, raising the prospect of law enforcement being placed in the hands of Kerry Katona and whatever half-****ed, petty criminal happens to be blowing his muck up her at the time.

    Hattrick

I expect it's just getting used to it. It's good that you can now see the player skills when you are picking the team.
  19. I microwaved some bacon on the weekend. Was surprisingly ok.

    BNP

I don't think Romsey is likley to attract a BNP candidate. It's hardly Barking or Burnley!

If I was the employer I'd rather have hard working Poles who turn up on time every day than lazy shysters who don't want to be there, are late, rude, uncooperative and pulling sickies twice a week!
  22. ugh... what a horrible thought!
  23. If we don't make the play-offs, I would expect us to pish over L1 next year with the resources available. I don't want chips but caviar!
  24. Great, pick on the spastics... That is not what he was doing on Mock the Week!
  25. TBF I do have a sneaking admiration for Lord Snape. He's very clear and organised in what he wants. The Tories would love to have him on board. Although, Dune, he is not an MP.
