If Steve Davis is an attacking midfielder like most of you are suggesting, then his stats let him down badly. As I have said earlier, I see him more of an all rounder; that being the case, I think Cork would be better in that role than Davis.
-
If you look at his career stats, nothing would suggest he's an attacking midfielder, 4 goals in 60 games for us, 17 in a 152 for Rangers (decent team in a poor league) This season, he has contributed 2 goals and 6 assists. If he is employed as an attacking midfielder, he's certainly not contributing as much as he should. I see him as bit more of an all rounder, he's not as attacking as Lallana, but then he's not as defensive as Morgan. I guess that's my problem with him, he's too "average" in every department, without being great. I that role, I would have someone with a bit of flair, but also a bit of an engine. As we don't have anyone like that (with a fully fit squad) I would rather play Cork there than Davis.
-
Unfortunately, the award is called "Player Of The Season" not "Best Half Dozen Of The Season"
-
Anyone got any opta stats for him for this season.
-
Because I think Cork is better than Davis in that position.
-
Also, if I was looking to improve the squad over the summer, he would be one of the players I would look to upgrade. Good for the bench though.
-
He does a job, but if we had a full strength squad, Id play Wanyama and Morgan and then have Cork in Davis' position.

Not strictly Pompey Takeover Saga related....but anyone seen this..... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/benefit-fraudster-is-fined-180-for-seven-years-of-false-claims-1-5965798 There's probably a few on here that would !!!

Its times like this when the blue few share holders must realise they have about as much say in running the club as a Ukrainian soldier has in making decision in the Crimea!

The Ultimate Ride 4:56 PM on 25/03/2014 "wasn't it your club that mugged a £50M ground off of creditors a while ago mate, charities, businesses etc it's all the same if you don't pay your bar tab you can't drink anymore," Some of the few really do refuse to deal with facts dont they?
-
Someone should pose the following question to the few... "You have changed your owners, manager and first team squad and yet you are still in the sh1t, what is the one constant in all of this...?"

They were not necessarily real clear-cut ones, but in terms of entries into the 18-yard box it was more than we have done for a while. We didn't win the game, however" How sh1t have you got to be to be pleased with an increase in entries into the 18 yard box....

Westendsaint needs to be identified, painted blue and driven down the M27 so he can find himself a caravan to dwell in.

Hoggard isn't happy either... http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/mar/17/matthew-hoggard-jonathan-trott-england-return I tend to agree with them if I'm being honest. Good player for England, but if I was in charge of England I wouldn't want him playing again. You cant rely on him any more, what if you go on another tour and he wants to quit. Cant build an international sports team around players like that, same applied to Trescothick when he had his issues.

and this... "TD, ST and KM said there should be better communication from the PFC board to the PST board. Club information often becomes public before the PST board knows about it. PST board should be getting a monthly update on the Club finances and have received nothing. As some BMs are not willing to have extra meetings a monthly conference call was suggested"
-
Cant believe this has been missed... "KM expressed concerns over the PST share percentage; there is now a perception that PST should always have at least 51% to retain control. This shouldn't mean refusing extra money offered but should be born in mind. AB asked what the PST EB would want the PFC board to do if further President investment were offered. MT felt the percentage concerns shouldn't prevent PFC accepting further investment but that PST should try and keep the 51% majority and suggested we should target the 12,500 or so who come to FP but don’t have a share. AB thought that future share issues should only be created and launched for specific capital projects in which case people might accept a reduced percentage. KM thought funding for projects could be done in such a way that the percentage is not affected. He said we must look to make the Club secure for the future and leave a foolproof legacy. PW asked how much control the PFC board had over future investment. AB said the PFC board would have to approve it.

Down: West Ham (hate everything about them) Cardiff (bad enough having one welsh team in the Prem) Swansea (dont want any Welsh teams in the Prem) Up: Reading (good local game, plus NA in charge) QPR (just to see them go down again with HR in charge) Bournemouth (would be funny to see them get a hammering most weeks, before eventually going back down)

Nope, I'm suggesting that its pretty much exactly the same. Read FM's initial post on this, he said that with the death of every news paper comes the death of free speech. I was pointing out that the internet provides an adequate forum for free speech. Wikipedia is probably the best example as anyone can write anything, whether is it accurate or not is another matter, but its still the free'est of free speech.
-
You've gone off on a bit of a tangent there, your original point was that free speech and the ability to hold those in public office to account was greatly reduce with the death of each newspaper. I beg to differ, I would say that free speech was even more achievable on the internet. You only have to look at this forum to notice that a lot of things a said on here that probably wouldn't be said face to face....or what about the Anonymous organisation....or any person that has posted anti government messages in Egypt, Ukraine, Tunisia etc etc. Most of the uprisings were encouraged by posts on facebook, twitter etc, could you imagine trying to do it via the local, or national, paper. Wikipedia is also a very good example of free speech on the internet, as anyone can type anything they want. The same apparatus is also used to bring those in public office to account (E petitions, blogs, etc) What makes you think that the printed press is any more reliable that the information available on the internet? Most papers have a hidden agenda anyway, or certain politics they adhere to, or in some extreme cases, controlled by the state.
