I may be wrong, but from the wording of your post, it seems that you are going to make all the arrangements for her.....I’m not sure this is the right approach, she will have a lot better understanding of what her itinerary is if she organises it herself. She can make amendments to it as the ideas start to develop and pick and choose what she likes the sound of etc., further reading and internet searches may give her ideas on places she has never heard of etc. Also, it’s probably not the best of starts to learning your way in the big wide world, if your dad does everything for you before you go.

We have students from all around the world working on projects for a few months, then heading back to their uni; almost all of them comment on what a shiiitehole Southampton is for night life / things to do. They are here for 6 months at a time, and spend their weekends in other towns (Brighton, Bath, Bournemouth etc) Unless you are down here to count how many student flats we have in the city, don't expect a great night out. Especially after letting 4 in....

I've always like the Volvo 480 (beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that!) and was thinking about getting one now that I've changed jobs and don't have a company car. I guess I misjudged the mood of this thread, or indeed, the point of this forum. I always assumed it was a good place for healthy debate; yes it tips over the edge at times, but I've always enjoyed reading the differing views and am more than happy to be proven wrong / be corrected by people more qualified than myself. There is a vast array of knowledge on this forum, which I've always enjoyed. If you look at my post, it wasn't directed at anyone, it’s not worded to have a go at anyone or prove anyone wrong, it was simply a "devil’s advocate" type post to provide a different viewpoint, or a different angle to the thread. Unfortunately, some of you don’t like differing views, so treat any post you don’t agree with, with disdain and ridicule. Yes CB Fry, you got me on that one...I did copy and paste! Fortunately, I have a job and life outside of this forum, so instead of typing something out word for word, I took the quick option and copied it from a website which was conveniently in the same language you and I understand, bonus ! I think its a long term / short term thing. Most of us want to win the FA Cup to put a trophy in the cabinet, but finishing 3rd / 4th this season could give us the platform to put many more in our cabinet.

Get 4th (or 3rd!!!) this year, buy Messi, Ronaldo and Bale, walk the FA Cup next season. Simple.
