"The Climb" by Anatoli Boukreev is another good book to read. Gives a different perspective on the 1996 events. Boukreev got a lot of stick in "Into Thin Air" and felt he needed to get his side of the story out there.

I dont consider Berghaus to be chavvy either. Its origins are in outdoor clothing (and very good quality at that), it all went wrong for them (or right from a commercial point of view) when this happened... Liam Gallagher wearing a Berghaus at Glastonbury c.1996, forced the brand into the main stream. Most of the people you see wearing one have probably never seen a tree, let alone climb a mountain etc...

Ive generally got them from car boot's and 2nd hand shops, there was a 2nd hand book shop just off soton high street a few years ago that used to have quite a few. I pay anything from about 50p to £20 / £30. Funnily enough, my prized atlas, which was printed in 1899, cost 50p from Bursledon car boot !!! Its worth considerably more !!

Ive still got all of my old Star Wars figures from when I was a kid. At the time, I wasnt collecting them as such, just wanted them all so I could play with them. Now they are stored away somewhere under the stairs, I guess you could call it a collection (although it hasnt been added to since the late 80's !!!) Nowadays, I collect atlases, the older the better, have about 40'ish I guess.
