  1. They could almost manage themselves at this stage... Pretty sure the players know what to do....
  2. Fair play to West ham (not the idiots going on the pitch) fans protesting at the ineptitude of their board. Not advocating similar but it shows how easy Reed/Ralph have had it. 3pts off Champions league to this in 2 years. Bravo Sirs.
  3. United have seemed keen on Poch since he was with us but his lack of winning anything must poor cold water on that one. Which begs the question would Madrid entertain the idea either.
  4. The moment we allowed managers to change our system was the end of the Southampton Way. The ethos before that seemed to be that the coach agreed to play our way as it was the way all age groups played. That was an ethos that gave the club an identity. That pathway to the first team etc.
  5. Maybe not embarrassed by but it's sucking the life out of supporting my club. Thanks Liverpool (and Saints for allowing it to happen).
  6. Good! The tea's facking awful
  7. 3rd 20 miler done in the beautiful New Forest. Up at the crack of dawn as driving back North after weekend with folks. Todays run was 13 minutes faster than 3 weeks ago so moving in the right direction.
  8. Am I correct in saying it's a dance hall?
  9. Second 20 miler done and dusted. Was far more enjoyable and felt stronger than last week. Had an easier week in terms of overall mileage as work/family stuff took precedence so only 40 miles.
  10. I'm running Manchester marathon again beginning of April. Training been going ok but plenty of terrible weather has been testing my sanity/motivation. Second 20 miler of the campaign tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to it.
  11. Good. I've got no clue what he actually does anyway apart from speak horse shyte periodically for 15 minutes without actually saying anything. The bloke is terrible. I never hear from any other board types at another clubs with the exception of Charlton at United, but we're talking living legend there not this ice hockey balloon. Jesus Christ... Ice hockey coach
  12. Exactly this. We won't pay the millions required to get anyone decent in now. As if Hughes would come here now FFS. He'll sit it out and resurrect his Prem career next season once the managerial merry go round begins in late August. We could obviously get someone in now on a short term but as I say, we won't coz we won't shell out the millions needed to pay off MP and the new bloke. Proper shambles. Les won't admit his mistake either by pulling the trigger on this clown. Surely Les' position is untenable if we go down anyway?
  13. Just took a swipe at players for no-show in second half in his post match to BBC on 5-Live. Hmmm. That is ominous to go public. We all know who has the real power.
  14. Klopp summed it up perfectly in his post match to 5 Live... "Football without risk is no good and you shouldn't be playing if you don't take risks. People don't want to watch no risk football". He was referring to Lpool btw but I thought it applied perfectly to Saints. MP on 5 Live having a go at the team for second half no-show. Apologises to fans. Hmmm.
  15. Didn't it filter through that he had reservations about our league position and the setup in general? I think if we were doing better this season there would have been every possibility he would have signed.
  16. Sadly, this sort of story and the money now in the game is why I stopped handing over my hard earned. I love Saints and although have been exiled up North the past 20 years I will always be a Saint. However, I am not funding the pensions of Premier league footballers anymore when my own pension won't be sufficient to retire even modestly on. Such a sad state of affairs. Many others will disagree entirely and that's fine. The product has never been better and all that. Heck, even 5 live pundits are earning six figure salaries.
  17. Oooooh oooooh Mario Lemina... Sooooo tense that last 20 minutes. M A S S I V E 3pts.
  18. In danger of believing their own hype at board level. The decline has been appreciable and totally predictable IMO based on recent transfer activity. A perfect storm was allowed to develop due to inexperienced managerial appointments and the famed black box going awol. Did it ever exist or did Mitchell take it with him? I personally don't buy the narratives spun by the club and whilst not a numbers person, the apparent misnomer that funds received contribute to extended contracts to stave off being pillaged every summer seems more and more ludicrous. Gah! The annoying thing is it's been obvious to even a simple fan like myself. Of course the unpredictable nature of the sport is what keeps us coming back for more but systematic failures seem to have prevailed and remain unchecked. A total fiasco from top to bottom. Saying all that, and since this is a ratings thread, the cynic in me wonders if it has been an excellent window for the bean counters?

  20. When he pulls on that red n white shirt with that beautiful badge in his chest and crosses the white line, he has my full support... As always... We're going to be integral to this team for the remaining fixtures. Spurs atmosphere was great, more of the same fellow supporters
  21. Wouldn't say no to Fellaini... Much maligned but can be very effective IMO. Gets stuck in as well.

I was sat in with the home fans when he scored that excellent equaliser up at OT against United back in 2002. I remember all the Irish moaning like hell when that flew in. Another late goal sunk us that day. I don't remember him doing much else tbh. CMFG did strike up an almost telepathic relationship with that young left back, can't think of his name.
  23. Ice rink?? When did that happen??
  24. I'm sure the poster you replied to didn't mean to be quite so Doomsday scenario. However, it does have the whiff off the 'end of something' about it. I usually start to worry when the upper management start talking about things being great from a business perspective. It usually means the opposite and they are preparing people. Of course, they are also trying to keep things together in an attempt to get out of the situation. My antenna is most definitely in probing position.
  25. Didn't his car get turned over in the car park? Or was that Roger Millfords?
