Right, firstly I've obviously had a 'mare here.. I'm big enough and ugly enough to accept that. Only noticed the thread title when it was pointed out.. I knew what I meant Obviously I have flown in the face of popular opinion but I thought the club were better than this. That's all I am getting at.

Firstly, I am as bitterly disappointed as the next supporter regarding the recent transfers of arguably our best players, including today's transfer of our captain. However, I am stunned by the vitriol and lack of grace shown by some contributors on this forum and the club also. With regard to the derisory statement by the club on the official site: I have to say its totally disrespectful and shows a total lack of class. Regardless of the fact that Lallana may of been badly advised or acted like a spoilt kid. The club should be able to rise above such matters. Two wrongs don't make a right and the club should still try and retain its traditions even if on the face of it the player has badly let the club down.

The poor bugger will need another week off prior to pre-season up there since their doctor is some kind of sadistic machiavellian monster apparently. He must have his probe well and truly inserted by now.

Steady on mush! Lallana has stood by Saints through thick and thin and we've enjoyed a great ride together. He's gone (as good as) and for the right money IMO. Everyone is happy. I would rather of kept him but he wanted to go so we got the best deal we could. Show some bloody respect and class just for once.

It's being tested today its fair to say. I'm no bedwetter but we've had better days for sure. Hmm.

He was fighting a battle he couldn't possibly win IMO. His hockey background will be a constant point for discussion. I wasn't a fan of his over exuberance and even his constant delegation of responsibilities. It made me wonder what the hell he was actually doing. Oh and the North American brand-speak was also grating. It might be accepted over there but I just squirmed every time he enthused about practically nothing. Maybe it's a British thing but I just can't deal with that pandering attitude. There is positivity as then there is bull****

Hehe.. you know what I mean. The "officially" part was me putting my rubber stamp on it. What do any of us really know anyway? My gut reaction to that little interview was that it was an olive branch being extended by Lallana. I'm guessing there is more of that interview to come...

He's staying! Liverpool deal officially OFF (IMO)

I'm almost certain Mr Turkish was trying to be humorous and witty. Judge for yourself if you consider his one-liner a success. -
Give me a week with moderator powers and I'd cleanse this place once and for all. Half the threads would be moved instantly to the Muppet Show and instead of bans I would restrict posting to the Muppet show until a poster has learned that the main board isn't for petty point-scoring and nonsense posts.

We'll have the most hated manager in England too of course... who can forget... He's gonna flick one now.. he's gonna flick one... HE'S GONNA FLICK ONE!!!

Wasn't she just. Had a sort-of sideways nodding horse thing going on akin to Paula Radcliffe. Annoying way of breathing too* * perhaps a little harsh

Even worse than I thought! He's obviously house-hunting ;-)

Nobody else think we're being played by RK? Contract formerly offered on Friday. He takes off to Turkey for the weekend to mull it over. Or maybe he's gone to see what Galatasary are offering?? We've now done a bit of leaking ourselves to push for an answer.. Just me then :-)

Gah.. shame I'm not a betting man.. would love some easy money from this

This all day long... Very, very clever if completely bleedin' obvious. Still you have to strike while the iron is hot.. Bruce might have a shocker next year and get the boot.. improved terms this summer would soften the blow.

Agree with some of the sentiments registered here recently. Reluctantly I have come round to the fact that Shaw and indeed Lallana are probably going to leave. I am old enough to get over our best players leaving (just about). I am also becoming increasingly optimistic that our board are indeed carrying out their mandate of getting the best deal for Saints. Along with some of the more looney fringe on here I had become a little dubious as to the boards credentials but as time goes on I get the feeling we are playing hardball. Essentially, I am quite comfortable with players leaving (so long as its not everyone of course) as long as we drive the hardest bargain possible. We insert huge sell-on clauses' (especially in the case of Shaw) and we demand the majority of the transfer fee up front. I think most fans would acknowledge the board had acted with integrity and in the best interests of the club if this were to be the outcome with any transfer we complete this summer. Anything less however, and I will be very disappointed. I would also be extremely disappointed should the majority of any transfer fees raised not be re-invested back into the team. Play hard Saints... the ball is so in your court even Nadal would struggle to beat you.

My son has been wearing his Lallana 20 shirt proudly all this week. Don't worry about some of the reactions here and on the ECHO site.. all based purely on some leeked info that the club wanted you to see and interpret in a certain way. Agendas are just like ar**holes... everyone's got one. Especially true in the world of politics, football and business in general. I think saints should issue this tweet and stop all this cloak and daggers stuff: Edit: and we should also do the right thing by Bournemouth. Our own fault for not buying that sell-on clause out. Any attempts to NOT pay Bournemouth what they are owed (should the transfer complete) would be very, very bad in my eyes. That being said, I think it totally fair that Saints are asking for a fee that includes this sell-on clause. Liverpool can cry all they want about it not being their problem, and why should they have to pay more for Lallana to satisfy a payment we would be liable for.. but to that I say... its a sellers market Liverpool. The price is fixed and its none of your business how we arrive at that sum.

What utter bo**ocks I don't believe he wanted to go there for one minute IMO. I think it more likely Cortese was plotting another perceived unpopular move that may of paid dividends further down the track.. we'll never know now.

Prowsey for me. Great striker of the ball. F**k me that Jay Rod pen was awful.

Alpine you've had a f**king 'mare here mush. Wind your neck in there's a good chap. Whilst some players/managers leave under a dark cloud (Pochettino obviously most recently) Rickie Lambert deserves nothing but our absolute gratitude and respect. he deserves his place on the f**king banner and he deserves his place in our history. Unbelievable.

I like the idea of Koemam. Would hopefully continue the traditions of the past whilst implementing some total football of his own. Would be an exciting name for the current bunch and potential new signings too. One caveat though is the distinct possibility that not only will we continue to be a feeder club for our players but potentially for our managers too. Koeman to Spurs in 2016 anyone ?? Those North London Yobbo's just can't do their own homework!!

Pretty sure it was Manchester airport. He's flying back to Southampton about now.. If you want your last chance to shake this mans hand.. Get yourself to Eastleigh sharp(ish). On a serious note, he seemed shattered and emotional. Said he couldn't say too much. When asked a final question regarding it being tough to leave Saints he genuinely seemed troubled and held massive mixed feelings. Said he will address everyone when he can. I assume this to mean there might be time for him to reflect us supporters. I know saints means a lot to him. A crazy, crazy ride. Proud we shared some great times with him. He was a catalyst for our revival, a figurehead who smashed goal after goal as we rose. He will never be forgotten. My 10 year old is on a proper downer. I remember what that felt like to lose your favourite player. The board better get some of that good news out soon. The jury is most definitely out for me...
-
To what end Alpine? Serious question. I have seen this alluded to here quite a lot but no actual substance. In your opinion why would he be deliberately trying to wreck things for us?
-
None that I can think of other than wanting to test himself in the Premier league. I think he would possibly want Europa league at the very least though. Apparently Lennon has stated much the same but you are correct. Outside those already in Europe next season there really is no one else better placed than us. I realise Man U are also not in Europe (that sounds weird to say that) but they already have their man. We are next in line and have a vacancy for a back scrubber. However, FdB is probably out of our league. If Levy, the fruit-loop, couldn't convince him to take on Spurs I'm not sure we have a cat in hell's chance. FdB is obviously going to go to one of the super-elite clubs in Europe, Barca in a season or two would be my guess. Certainly not a Saints or Spurs for that matter.
