  1. Osvaldo would be a good shout. KL putting her foot well and truly down and taking a big hit in the process. (he's sort-of behind the scenes no?)
  2. Could someone point me towards the quotes that Adam has given were he clearly states his desire to join Liverpool??? I read their forum RAWK as it's usually good quality and they know their football. However, some contributors seem to suggest Lallana has indicated he wants to join them. I recall Lallana saying he is keen to progress and play at the highest level one day but that's a stretch to say he wants to join Liverpool. Apologies if I have missed these direct quotes.
  3. Exactly. There is nothing to say currently. We can all read into this as much as we want and frankly, a lot of people are lapping it up in Liverpool, Manchester and Southampton. Three huge demographics buying lots of newspapers, not to mention social media. From my own perspective, I think the bids have been made. I think we are seriously looking at them. If we were not interested in selling our players I am sure Les would of been wheeled out to categorically reject the bids. He hasn't, therefore we are looking to sell IMO. Its now a case of how much. That is why its so quiet. The only thing I can see changing things is if Adam decides he doesn't want to move up North. Then he stays. I think Luke is gone. He will use Man United as a stepping stone to one of the bigger Spanish clubs (just like Bale). He'll be 24 after his 5 year deal expires at Man United. he might pick up a league title or some cup medals but they will be a long time rebuilding and won't trouble City too much in the very near future. He will be a multi millionaire at 24 and maybe 40+ England caps to his name by then. He will end up at Madrid if he keeps his head and continues his meteoric development. Man United will be used to cement his financial future, nothing more. They will mean nothing to him. We developed him, he supports Chelsea, Man United will get used royally and I hope we rinse them on the fee as well. Luke's a smart lad - he'll see the us right. All IMO of course
  4. Good read that. Worrying that he suggests the offers have not been rejected as reported. Also worrying that the Lallana bid is lower than I would of anticipated. Indeed it would be interesting to see how this all played out with Don Cortese at the helm.
  5. They are doing really well these past few days. I have actually enjoyed sifting through all the various theories and suppositions. We should be trying to encourage their rehabilitation. Keep up the good work chaps.
  6. Yep credit where it's due. Paid my fiver today after enjoying reasoned debate with no petty nonsense clogging things up.
  7. Haha you have to laugh.. We could go from potential European candidates next season to relegation favourites in the space of a few days at this rate.
  8. Oh that would be great. Our total valuation of the player PLUS tie-ins. However, the buying club will present the deal as: £20m up front plus blah blah which could total £30m (our valuation). All I am saying is call it a straight £30m and you have a deal. It won't happen but there you go.
  9. I think he will end up there. United have gone big and early because they know they can be out-gunned by both City and Chelsea. Also depends who United get in as manager. They will be years rebuilding IMO. Exactly what I don't want. All those bull**** appearance tie-ins. I know it might be unrealistic but I would love for us to push them for all money up-front. It should be on our terms. I think Poch will be convinced to stay if we sell just Shaw. If he is assured its to continue to improve. The only way we can improve is to incrementally move forward. The Everton model if you like. They sell a star player and re-invest some of it.. slowly but surely they ended up a top 6 side. Selling one of our star turns makes sense. Selling any more and we're going backwards IMO.
  10. Absolutely. Hardball is an understatement. I was talking to someone today about this and whilst I conceded we are probably still a selling club, we appear to be in the best position we have ever been in to dictate dealings with United. The player, so far, isn't pushing for the move AFAIK (haven't read anything from Luke in the Press). We have made it clear we don't want to sell (this snippet of the bid being rejected in the Guardian - how reliable that is I'm not sure). So, United will have to come back with an improved offer. I would like to see us not only push for the highest valuation but also the make-up of the transfer should be dictated by us also. This tradition of fee plus bonuses needs to stop IMO. United are desperate, have the cash on the hip, so make them pay the lot - up front. I would hope Saints would also add a substantial sell-on clause also, somewhere in the region of 15-20%. I can just about take our players leaving, that is natural, but we are no longer in debt, we are no longer cap-in-hand to the big clubs.. so cough up if you want our players. Top dollar.
  11. Guardian confirm we've rejected the bid... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/may/12/rio-ferdinand-leaves-manchester-united-luke-shaw
  12. The current Chile coach is a great shout. Continuity. Take note Ralph! Or you could just keep Poch. Up to you really.
  13. Les said this would be the case. MP would have the final say (with Les of course).
  14. This sums up how I feel. Especially the part about Krueger. I thought his refreshing, communicative style was a sign of the new boards transparency. Regrettably I now think it was simply a case of the axeman smiling with compassion to relieve some of the blood-letting we are now about to suffer. You have to say he has done his job very well. The first signals for me were when he talked about how his arrival at the club was 'masterminded' in the media. His comments to the Canadian football show about "throwing the notion out there" regarding his involvement. He then mentioned "throwing out there his background and the Canadian hockey success at the Olympics" being a good thing media wise. All comments leading to a softening of the fan-base.
  15. I hear you brother.
  16. Oh, watched some more, some London Grammar in their as well

  18. I do realise this thanks Mr Hypochondriac In my reply to Mr Pap I alluded to the fact I was being ironic and a little sarcy. Apologies if you didn't catch the drift. I know I have a lot to learn to become a forum WUM superstar.. perhaps I'm being too subtle ? I certainly need to raise my forum count/profile. Anyway, I clearly cannot count as THIS is my 3rd post P.S. Sounds like this is a great opportunity for the Site owners to increase subscription fees... by the sounds of it the WUMs are more than happy to shell out more for their own play area.
  19. I see the irony was not lost on you Mr Pap. I said on average.. I think your average is well down having only posted 10k in 6 1/2 years.. I am merely joining in with the general bashing and pompous attitudes that seem to be expected here. If you can't beat them.. join them right? Anyway, think this is my 3 posts so.. until tomorrow I guess
  20. Certainly Mr Turkish: Anyone who posts, on average, over 8 times a day needs to get a life HTH HTH - yeah that really annoys the hell out of me too. However, I have used it in this instance for ironic effect. HTH
  21. Not me pal. I'm back as a non-subscriber, 3 posts a day. However, as you can see from my meagre post count I don't even average 3 posts a day so I will be largely unaffected. Also, I have seen some allude to the fact people were leaving in protest. I think most are actually just not bother to support the site with their hard earned. You carry on tho... You're doing a fantastic job. Oh and for the record. I don't want anybody banned. I just want less point scoring and general squabbling. I have ignored for years but have felt over the last year that the volume of garbage has increased to ludicrous levels. So much so it has over shadowed what was an excellent source for all the latest Saints. That being said, I've made my feelings known as have others. I see no point in contributing to this thread any further. It's clear this is a decisive issue with polar opposite views. Some suggesting there is no problem, some saying there is a problem but best to do nothing, then there is the camp I fall into claiming it's ruining our enjoyment etc. You can't please everyone, I accept that. Like a coward who refuses to complain at a restaurant - I'll vote with my feet thanks very much. As you were... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. You miss the point. It is the WUMs that are filling up threads. I sometimes have to scroll entire pages to get to anything genuinely related. Not to mention the threads the WUMs start. I'm basically on ignore mode all the time. The forum becomes pointless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Listen pal, You and your pals have been told to pipe down. In any other football forum this would be enough to make you STFU but there is very little moderation here anymore. It's so invisible that posters like you are allowed to roam free and ruin 97% of threads. I know you don't think you do, I know you think you are just posting a different opinion but consensus here says that isn't the way it is perceived. Wake up and smell the coffee. I visit other forums and this level of WUMing just isn't tolerated. Sure you get the odd post but it's quickly quelled. And it's to the benefit of the forum that not all threads are ruined. It doesn't quell debate, it doesn't mean everyone agrees, it just means threads don't get de-railed and become a personality-fest featuring you and your pals. You know who you are. It's calculated and clinical. You are very good at what you do. I'm sure you get massive kicks out of it. I'm sure you are not saints supporters at all but some kind of cyber vermin that registers for many forums. Like a virus that attacks sites in the attempt to completely grind them into the ground through calculated and cynical thread derailment. Well done. You are succeeding. However, the fight back is on. Your time here is limited. My advice to you and your pals is to drop your current usernames and register again... Only this time try and not be such an annoying jerks. It's the only way forward. Your current usernames are completely and unquestionably untenable. Either that, or as someone else has already said... Get to the Lounge. This forum is 100% saints. If I were a moderator, as soon as I smelled your BS I would swat you like a fly! Any attempts at WUMing would just be deleted. Censorship this ain't... Just controlling the vermin.. Like you would any pest. Keep it on topic. Keep it fair. Stop asking opposing questions with the only intent to cause a reaction. Keep it Saints. This really is a fork in the road for this forum. I have not paid my fiver this year as I decided I no longer felt comfortable supporting this site. I suggest many others do this if they feel this forum has become tedious and boring. This would do far more to affect change if the funding for the site was drastically reduced. And the "just ignore them" line peddled out whenever these kind of threads crop up is pointless too. The vermin are like locusts and consume vast swathes of threads. You're basically telling me to ignore almost entire threads. Pointless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Yeah we got kept in for half hour after final whistle and Dave Beasant came out and told a few jokes. His opening gambit was "the police are keeping you in because they are worried you'll beat all the Pompey fans up!". Oh how we chortled Dave! Then we got out and had to fight out way back to Fratton station as the locals appeared from down side streets. I saw those bastards hitting anything and everything including women... Totally out of order. I only saw one police officer on a horse that whole way back to Fratton. Was a good game tho with major ****-taking 1-5 in a testimonial for their keeper... They couldn't even get that right. Soppy divs :-)
