  1. RIP once a saint...always a saint
  2. After #nipplegate on the match thread I'm relieved to a) still be posting and b) with the much needed 3pts. I'm of to Sunderland next week so this win should instil a bit more belief as we hopefully continue to emerge from that horrid run of fixtures. They won well today tho and seem to be flying.
  3. Dang! I wasn't aware of that... lucky I never posted the next one then
  4. COME ON YOU SAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I'm sure we've had this one before: YES GET IT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Everton just ticking along picking the 3pts up thankyou very much...(just gone 2 nil up) they are the team we should be trying to emulate NOT the top 4. However, Everton are showing us how its done, unfortunately.
  7. nil nil all over this a bit of reverse wotsits
  8. Is that the same Ian Abrahams aka "the moose" who is regularly lambasted and ridiculed by the very station that employ him?? And not just by the show hosts but also by guest contributors. It's one of the great mysteries to me how this muppet keeps his job. In fact I'm coming round to the idea that he was sacked years ago but his rich daddy convinced Talk Shiit to let him stay on as otherwise he'd be at home wannking himself to death over photos of Bobby Moore.
  9. Jos is going nowhere. He has carved out a nice little niche in being *the* guy at the club who sorts new players out with phone contracts and posh motors. He's an invaluable member of the project. Personally I'm happy for him to continue this good work in a purely ambassadorial role a la Radhi
  10. I think a lot of people who frequent this tiny corner of cyberspace would feel relieved if saintsweb just vanished one day. Kaput! The sad WUMs would contemplate taking their own lives (if they had one I take). For the rest of us the suffering would be over. It's like watching a dying relative in hospital. You force yourself to go up and see them, knowing its a lost cause, trying to keep your/their spirits up. But in the end death beckons us all. You wouldn't let a dog suffer like this FFS
  11. Well, well, beaten. Held our own in the first half just about but we look very tired. Very tired indeed. Compound this with the fact they are quite clearly miles better than our players. Thought the nipper Chambers played well. Lovren and Fonte dodgy and brave in equal measures. Kelvin started well but like the team seemed to lose confidence very fast. Midfield pretty ineffective and the dog tired. Zero energy or dynamism. Worst they've played all season. Up top very hit and miss. One of those early AL chances goes in or Lambert's header goes in the confidence comes back. Jay Rod liked half his normal self. Adam faded and was well marshalled/shackled second half. However, simply beaten by a better side. Fair enough. I won't lose any sleep over it. Happy new year fellow Saints.
  12. Lallana. Club legend. Enjoy him whilst he's ours.
  13. He's going nowhere. Close thread.
  14. Awesome.. I can just see someone ****ed up at an away game carrying on from the end of the song with the "baby, baby, I get down on my knees for youuuuuuu" part before we all join back in with another chorus. Hang on tho... Didn't Top Gun recently get voted the #1 homo-erotic film of all time????? We don't want the fancy dress brigade taking things a step too far and wearing white navy/Air Force suits to the last game of the season.
  15. Re SPOTY last night.... During the England team highlights did anyone else look knowingly at their partner/wife/bit on the side and exclaim "Lambert" as the voice over recapped the highlights of the year... they mentioned the guy who came from nothing to score for his country, gave it the big build up... dreams to come true etc etc.. only to show Anderdross Townsend's fine strike and no mention of Rickie's wonderful story from August!! ****ing PLEBS!!!!!
  16. Happy to do it. Just need the assets.. if the mods don't have the original photoshop PSD I can use the PNG straight from the website. Just say the word.
  17. I quite like that and totally agree Big Ron needs to be on the banner and I agree at the expense of Keegan. He did have a great season with us but he will always be a Liverpool/Newcastle legend. All the others with the exception of Shilts are Saints through and through. You could argue Lambert has got on this banner very quickly but then his impact over a short period warrants his inclusion. I'm assuming those in charge have the necessary skills to make the change but if not, send me the layered PSD and I'll gladly do it (the above is obviously a very quick mock-up) Edit: I'm guessing to maintain the timeline Ron would go in-between Terry and Mick?
  18. Ignore this crap post!! Totally lost my head there.. talking about the wrong game
  19. Damn you and your posting of excellent links stopping me from working!! Whilst there I watched the Delhurst Park game which I was at but Sh!t-faced and don't remember it really. This then led me to this old news link from the Echo warning ticket-less Saints from travelling up... http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/search/5635179.Dellhurst_park/ Happy daze! Back to work!!
  20. I just posted in the JRod thread that I hope he (JRod) is bending Rickie's ear constantly re how to improve his own game. Same goes for Chambers - I hope he is taking as much as he can from Clyne who is at least 2 years more advanced especially going forward. On the opposite flank I was surprised to hear Shaw saying how much Fox has helped him and how he rates him as one of his closest and trusted advisers at the club!! Can't remember where I heard that but Shaw defo said it. For all Foxy's deficiencies I guess if Shaw is making comments like that then Fox must be a good lad and an important squad member so fair play to the lad.

    Jay Rod

It's been said before but he will be the long-term replacement for Lambert. I just hope he is bending Rickie's ear constantly in order to improve and take the best part's of Lambert's game and add them to his own. I think he will be some player in 2-3 years time with all that prem experience behind him. As above, in full flow, he is exciting, direct and gets bums off seats! Clearly loves it down here now too which is important as he seems a great lad and moving away from home was obviously tough for him. Love him to bits.
  22. Bloody American English... its creeping in everywhere... EDIT: Not your spelling trousers... obviously :-)
  23. Maybe so but call it superstition or maybe just the players attitudes but certain grounds have been rubbish for us over the years. Stats can prove or disprove anything and obviously your stat above is largely due to us not playing them that often in last 8 years due to being in a different league. I still stand by my statement that historically it's not been a happy hunting ground for us. It shouldn't have anything to do with the result but players are humans and will be well aware we don't do well up there. Truly hope we win of course but am not overly confident. Just as well I'm not playing I guess you could say :-) As you were
  24. I'm calling a defeat here. Simply because we don't do that well up there and I think they will be too good on the counter. They have great pace up front and will be up for it. Certainly far more up for it than City were last week.
  25. Damn! I forgot about you! I ought to know better than to get my facts wrong. Alright then, wouldn't look out of place in League 1.
