Wonder if Bagpuss had to take a pay cut when we were relegated...

Sounds about right to me. And perversely i don't really have a problem with that. Actually going up as Champions next year would give me a greater sense of pride than sneaking up via the play off. Really want that trip to Wembley this year though!

Exactly what i was going to say! Not that that makes it cool of course... 21 games remaining multiplied by the 0.7 points equals 14.7 points... Millwall was a real 0.6 pointer!

Just had a quick listen back at this and certainly found it to be of interest given recent events http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8268510.stm Thought i'd share the link

That's quite a hefty chin he's developed there as well...

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?

Adapting to English football takes time. And some players never do. -

A lot depends on the price doesn't it really? -
agenda? what are you talking about?! i'm expressing my opinions about the cesspit that is football in the modern age.

I'm sure Elliott Ward always conducts himself with the utmost of integrity. Thus why he's running down his contract at the moment safe in the knowledge he'll be due a big signing on fee in the summer. I suspect that if he'd shown the desire and hunger to play for our club and had been a little less greedy with his wage demands then Elliott and Coleman wouldn't be quite so upset right now. And the real reason Coleman is upset is because whilst he's got Ward's inflated wages (one of the highest at the club) on his books he won't be making the transfer moves he wants. Certainly nothing to do with feeling sorry for Elliott Ward who he obviously dislikes. This is football i'm afraid.

He's got a pretty impressive scoring record, pace to burn, is young and this goal against Villa (4:34mins) shows some real potential. Does this mean he's Michael Owen? No of course he's not. Most of his goalscoring record is in League 2. Most of his goals are tap-ins. Still in relative terms a million bucks for a goalscorer is worth a punt and people are always going to get excited at the possibility of goals. It's what we go to football for. Must you insist on p:ssing on peoples bonfires every single time?

6 month contract? That should keep him on his toes! -
He will be earning well over half a million pound a year and will be smashing a woman you would give your left nut to do. And another club will come along to pay his demands. Do not feel sorry for him.

Can't really see why we'd want three high wage earners fighting for one position anyway...and that's ignoring Thomas... Certainly don't feel sorry for Ward having the deal fall through at the last minute...if he and his agent weren't so greedy then this wouldn't happen. Being one of the highest wage earners at Coventry he ain't gonna be asking for small change from us. And since he can get a free transfer with a signing on fee come the summer and Coventry are treating it like a free transfer now i'm pretty sure he'd be asking for a hefty signing on fee... Now if like Fonte he were playing well and in a good position to make such demands then fair enough. But we all know that Pardew thought it was a risk as he had said in his radio interview. Thus the greedy footballer with overinflated sense of self-worth perpetuated by greedy agent looking to get his twenty per cent of hefty signing on fee can f::ck off back to greedy town as far as i'm concerned. All based on assumptions of course...but you're all doing it so why shouldn't i? The medical thing doesn't ring true with me somehow though.

He's under 6 foot away from home though...

Is it unwritten law of the Saints Web Forum that we must have new thread on Jacksons Farm at least every three months?

I think we were pretty rubbish that day... - Putting a positive spin on that it was because the mighty Seaborne contained us - Putting a negative spin on it we were rubbish and still scored 3 against that plum Seaborne It's a bit of both is the reality...

weird one i am... how's that Ward deal coming along?

Agreed. And i'm especially pleased to be adding extra height. I looked at the Norwich the other month and they looked like a bunch of monsters compared to our lot. I don't expect this guy to be the difference to making our squad world beaters but then not every signing is gonna be.
