  1. They tore Ipswich apart last week too. Till ipswich scored against the run of play (again). At least they're unlikely to park the bus and it should be open.
  2. Anyone know if we appealing the red card?
  3. I know what you mean. I am sure I had seen Brooks play through the middle before. But 433 needs a bit of physicality in the central role I think. Like Che, Stewart, or Kieffer Moore of course! I think today our front three should be Fraser, Arma and Che, with brooks for Fraser when he tires. Would like to see Aribo, but Stuey turns up in big games, and Downes / Smallbone are important. Need a strong RB vs Leif Davis and no silly free kicks or balls into the box like Saturday!! Play our best, work hard, and we win comfortably! COYS!!!
  4. We bring it on ourselves totally by not being ruthless enough after dominating games obviously. But the point was about Ipswich rather than us really.
  5. Very true, but where we have squandered 12 to 15 points, they've stolen that amount massively against the odds. As I said you make your own luck but you do feel lady luck is on their side and it's destined to be.
  6. Just watched them beat Blackburn without pretty much touching the ball for the last 60mins. You make your own luck but jeez how many undeseved points have they got this season.
  7. I wonder if he would benefit from some starts. Looked good against Liverpool aside from poor finishing. Trouble is we dont have time for experiments and need reliable performers! He did very well when we beat Leeds in the Autumn. But would you trust him ahead of Fraser/Armstrong/Brooks....possibly not!
  8. Think he is spot on with what he says. Really enjoy going home with Adam and Joe
  9. All got our views.and bound to get defensive. I've been close to Ipswich for 25 years including this season. When Burgess went to Oz, Morsy was suspended due to his ill discipline, and Hirst was crocked, results nose dived. And aside from beating us in September, not sure Leicester Leeds or WBA have had too many problems aside from a nervy ended for WBA away hanging onto their away draw. Mick Mills stated Bristol deserved to win the other night. All about perspective and bias I guess.
  10. They are almost my second club - have lived in Ipswich all my life and my family are Ipswich fans. I think you need to: - Make Davis defend and dont FFS give away silly free kicks around the box -Target Woolfenden with press - he is very poor. -Attack down Ipswich right - Clarke and Tuanzebe are not great, and that makes Burns defend. -Get in Morsys head - he has a red card in him. -Control midfiend - Morsy, Luongo etc are not the strongest in any aspect, solid and hard working. -Burns is quick and direct and needs stopping, but ultimately with players like Brooks, Fraser, Kameldeen (!) there should be no comparison As I said, they were totally outplayed for 80mins last night, failed to beat WBA, Leicester, Leeds at Portman Road. BUT - they pick up so many points from losing positions and through late goals. This is a team built on hard work and spirit as opposed to talent and quality, so you would like to think that if we applied ourselves our quality would shine through.
  11. Consensus here in Ipswich is that they massively got out of jail. Brizzle should have been 2-0 up and then bottled it. Granted, Ipswich kept going, but they were gifted it. Ipswich do have a knack of fergie time winners and equalisers though. However, Ipswich do not get results against the top sides - think I am correct in saying that out of Leicester, Leeds, WBA and us, they have only beaten us.
  12. Yep, have to win these home games now....and they are all winnable for sure!
  13. I live just outside Ipswich so see a lot of them. Really worry about where they will drop points now. Norwich game perhaps, and against us. We're going to have to beat them at Portman Road.
  14. ...and we should have been 5-0 at half time.
  15. Let's have it right. They are no more a bunch of kids than we are. Edozie, Charles, Mara, THB, Sulemana. They've fielded VVD, Taimitkas, Gakpo, mcaallister, Elliot, Gomez.
  16. Agree we do not want to take risks with Downes, but equally getting some minutes might not be a bad idea before chucking him into the Championship. He hasnt played in a while now.....
  17. Lumley Meghoma Thb Bednarek Stephens Downes for 60mins (charles) Aribo for 60mins (Rothwell if not cuptied) Dibling Edozie Sulemana for 60mins (SAA) Che for 60mins (mara) Rest Stu and Smallbone and KWP.
  18. Anyone know how Fraser is? Could do without losing him but guess its a position we do have Edozie and Sulemana capable of stepping into. Perhaps time to give Sulemana a few starts and see if he can get back to where he was when we smashed Leeds in the Autumn
  19. I dont think this was thattttt bad. We hit the bar in the first half and had 2 or 3 other very good chances. One of those goes in and its another win. Brooks I thought was creative as was Edozie. Smallbone does frustrate me as he recycles so much, Rothwell at least drives forward. Didnt think Charles was that bad - broke up play well once or twice. Sulemana didnt have a great night when he came on but kept losing his footing on the crap pitch!
  20. We have to be able to go to WBA and get a win really - we're easily good enough and they are missing Bartley still I hope. I think the back four picks itself. Midfield three will be interesting - Downes (if fit), Stu and Rothwell would be my pick and let Smallbone have a rest. If no Downes, then perhaps tweak the formation - 3 CBs? Not sure Aribo would be ready to come straight in and start but he has a bit of physicality which might help. Forward three I think we look best with Edozie one side, Arma the other, and Adams through the middle. Dont know if Brooks can play through the middle but maybe we bring him on with 30mins to go. Is there any news on Downes at all?
  21. I think Ings could be the David Connolly type scorer we would benefit from - cant see him playing 3 games in a week and staying fit though. Looks like Adams will indeed be off which would not really be a massive miss given how little he has played I suppose. Would be great if we could make a bit of a statement signing to replace him - really depends if we can get Stewart playing in Jan. Walker Peters leaving would be a worry. Bree is capable on that side but arguably he is our best left back. Would need to replace him I think - Meghoma/Larios dont seem near the first team / injured.
  22. I think move wise we need.... Defence Aarons IN, if KWP leaves then another fullback as Bree and Lyanco dont cut it. Lyanco - OUT but probably leaves us a bit light at centre back BUT hoping we keep ABK. Bree - couldnt care less! Midfield Lavia OUT - always going to happen JWP unfortunately OUT, but replace with Grimes potentially Downes as well but possibly a more physical presence in the Viafara mould. Being local to Suffolk I think Morsy at Ipswich is a decent option, as is Chaplin in a more forward role. Forward Tall Pall - OUT Mara - OUT Piroe- IN Djenpro - couldnt care less but could do a job as a utility play if his wages are not silly I think if we did this we have a decent enough squad there to do what we need to.
