I've just been looking at this again and I can only really see those sitting in block 37 in the KIngsland and block 1 in the Itchen (particularly just the other side of the aisle from the safe standing) are going to struggle to see most of the goal at that end and even less the far corner. Maybe this image isn't a true reflection, or they're going to be more lenient with persistent standers in those blocks (but that would just nark the ones that chose to sit). Last 800 Forest tickets go on general sale tomorrow, mostly either side of the aways.

Could be introduced to Saints fans at Oxford tomorrow night. All sold out of away tickets but I’ve had an idea…anyone got a flatbed truck and a pile of pallets?

It wouldn’t surprise if a couple of days after we play them in the PL opener that a deal is finalised. They probably want to avoid any possibility of “Ex-player comes back to haunt Magpies” type headlines.

I would think any suitors for KWP and also Onuachu are quite happy to play the waiting game, they'd know we need to sell so they can just bide their time till the price drops. I'd love to keep KWP but I think the club have made their minds up and already replaced him and other clubs will know that we need to recoup some funds to strengthen other areas. Both WHU and Spurs will likely see him as a very good back-up at a great price towards the end of the window. Others will also be aware we desperately need to bring in a competent striker and will need to shift Tall Paul to do so. We may have to remain patient.

Needless to say (see my username), most of my 'heroes' came from an earlier era but Steve Moran is, and will always be, a bit of a SFC legend. He scored some crackers, I was up at Anfield when he slotted home a late winner...but of course none were as special as 1984. They had no trouble sticking away fans pitchside in the corner a few years ago, getting away with taking the piss. 140 tickets left for this now.

I started going at the beginning of the 70s and I remember it was becoming quite common for supporters of numerous clubs to call their rivals “scum”. We mostly ignored them but some that went down to Milkin’s (think that was his name) testimonial in the late 60s saw the real start of the rivalry between us. It was also the when football hooliganism was becoming all the rage and, apparently, it was a bit ‘nawty’ that night. From that night some Saints fans changed ‘Pom’ for ‘scum’ and then referred to them as Scumpey. Tbh I can only remember them calling us scummers at first but some of ours were doing the same soon after - we should have just stuck with scumpey 😇

I'm a member and and blocks 11-16 are blanked off, don't know if it is because myself and all 'friends and family' are adults and so restricts us from the family zone but otherwise it is sold out. There's around 1 thousand tickets left, over half of them either side of the away fans which will probably get snapped up by some young 'erberts if it makes general sale. Itchen North crowd didn't fancy that area then, may change next season if some don't get on with the Northam (will likely be forced to sit though).

Yep, sure it was some associate of his, reported as around £7.5m a year at the time - wonder if Espanyol got paid up as their shirt sponsors were also LD Sports at the same time (think they were getting half what we were supposed to)

As contract is over with Hummel and now Puma I can’t see them using last year’s and, as you say, unlikely to give a defunct shirt sponsor free coverage. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us play in the new training kit today.

Simple yet effective - our new Northam Wall are gonna urgently need some more chants, 90mins of OWTS and the usual skates crap will be painful. Cheers KWP, as mentioned, big boots to fill and strangely never did have a chant for him - Sugawara will get one immediately.

Wrong colours but why not - if we're choosing our own I'd have to go with something like this* My family have been dockers for generations (what better way to represent Southampton), this fella looks a bit like my old docker grandad who used to go and queue up for work in the docks a hundred years ago *I know it's all a bit tongue-in-cheek really...

It will be a bit lively out in the Costas on Sunday, no doubt the sweaties (in particular) will be bulk buying cheap knock-off Spanish shirts for the big day. Fingers crossed for sore heads for all the right reasons 🍻
