You're right, it's usually glossed over on these anniversaries much like how many documentaries about Titanic neglects to mention the impact on Southampton other than the point it set sail from. Of the 1,500 lives lost, around half were crew working below decks with the vast majority coming from here, Having been built there, Belfast is usually the focus of attention but it was far more devastating for many Southampton families. We should shout louder about our city.

2024/25 season ticket information released
TheAlehouseBrawlers replied to CSA96's topic in The Saints
Looking at the new away section blocks 22-28 must be 3,000 seats for the PL, would only have needed to be 2,000 if we hadn’t gone up. I assume blocks 27-28 would have gone to home fans in the Championship. And guess the visitors will get blocks 21-22 for the additional FA Cup allocations. -
It’s certainly the same site but even that modern image is now out of date as it’s far more built up around the stadium now.

Wembley Tickets - extra tickets also SOLD OUT
TheAlehouseBrawlers replied to Harry_SFC's topic in The Saints
This is how they word it on the OS, states club has been given ‘extra’: 1,233 extra tickets have been given to Saints following our sell-out for Sunday's vital play-off final against Leeds. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/limited-wembley-tickets-available -
Wembley Tickets - extra tickets also SOLD OUT
TheAlehouseBrawlers replied to Harry_SFC's topic in The Saints
This is where they fooked up if there are any Leeds at our end, should have made it minimum of 3 home games that would rule out any southern-based Dirty-Leeds fans buying membership for one home game only. Even if there are some it will be little more than a handful at most spread out and who must be braindead if they make it known. -
Southampton 1-0 Leeds - Saints are Promoted!!

Extra trains to Waterloo are being put on to help cope with demand Sunday earliest 7:50 from Central…if they’re not already rammed before they get there! -
Sorry Whitey couldn't respond as used up my 3 posts - upper rows only til end of season, now being installed all the way down, All safe-standing, must be around 6,000 in the Northam plus some in the new away section.
-
The entire Northam is now safe-standing top to bottom - just looked again, and now saying none available. Single tickets have suddenly appeared in some blocks over the past few weeks as I guess some may have relocated but as it stand this afternoon, now sold out.
-
Many have as there's only around 40 seats left scattered around blocks 45 and 46, which will soon be gone, all other Northam blocks sold out.

It's a scouse phrase for out-of-towners

Hopefully they felt they just didn’t need risking Stewart last night and so more ready for the final. Will we see Stu Armstrong back in contention (and Che Adams if heart still in it), Bank Holiday weekend in the smoke, what could go wrong….? Let the fun begin.
-
It was pretty good for the League Cup Final tbf,* maybe there'll be a scarf on the seat for fans like last time, quite effective and Leeds will likely do it again after last night. *other than that light show
-
He’d like to but would probably fall over….
-
"...and ready to turn Wembley stadium white" - whoever they're playing are gonna be a bit of a side show for SKY.
-
If we do go up we would already have had to deal with it in the Playoff Final. Something to look forward to...

I've little doubt if you popped back to the last time the skates were about to fuck it up in the playoffs their local rag would have been doing the same. And they conveniently like to forget that the freak-with-the-bell and his little band of merry men first took a drum into their home games because the place was like a fucking morgue. And then they came up with this little beauty to encourage more to get involved
-
Think that's just a couple of quid after 6pm so probably best, particularly if coming in down the Avenue. Alternative is the West Quay Retail Park, open air car park near Furniture Village, Decathlon, etc., free parking after 8pm so depending on what time you're arriving to how much to pay (after 7pm £1.00 for one hour, after 6pm £1.50 two hours). But this would probably only be better if you were driving out to pick up the M271.

FFS that just has to be a skate wind-up

You’re right, football supporters certainly come in all shapes. There’s a post in the Lounge forum that shines a light on one such distant Saints fan who passed away earlier this year that may get missed as not on the main board
-
Sounds like he was a great family man and a Saints story worthy of the main board really. Similar age to myself and sounds like we got into it around the same time so plenty of ups and downs following this football club for your father, from a distance. Condolences for your loss.

WBA 0-0 Saints - SF 1st Leg Match Thread
TheAlehouseBrawlers replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
It’s a great place for noise when they’re up for it, like most grounds, not always like that. Looking on their forums they’re saying Sunday was one of the best ever atmospheres at the Hawthorns. Let’s hope every Saints fan is equally up to it on Friday. -
WBA 0-0 Saints - SF 1st Leg Match Thread
TheAlehouseBrawlers replied to SaintBobby's topic in The Saints
Yeah, was always going to sell quick and that was a good atmosphere for the JPT, helped by just about the entire ground being Saints, I think MK had little more than 100 fans tucked up in the corner. The first leg will be raucous, that's a good ground for noise when they're up for it. Hawthorns has always been a top away day and one of my favourite grounds since I started going away mid-seventies. Really envied that they had two cracking 'ends', big banks of covered terracing like we never had at the Dell. We've regularly taken good numbers, 10,000 in the FA Cup in '76, would have taken a lot more for this playoff if the space was available. -

A bit of a balls ache for those driving at the weekend - I remember road works adding to the miserable trip back from Derby after the midweek playoff semi. A positive result this time would help, of course. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/24304406.southampton-fc-fans-hit-a34-closure-west-brom-match/ -
Shit timing for a thread like this imo - time to galvanise support for these playoff games rather than stir up
