  1. Pathetic
  2. He said he put his arm across him but thought it was a clean challenge. i don't know what Morgan means, but watching it live and in replays, I have no idea where this supposed foul took place
  3. I just find it incredibly boring and tedious to hear managers moaning about tight refereeing calls rather than their team's lack of ability in any given game. We were one dimensional and boring going forward, maybe he should talk about why Pelle starts every game or why we play with 8 defensive outfield players on the pitch
  4. He is normally, he wasn't yesterday. Bertand gave a much better interview
  5. I couldn't care less what other managers say/do. I care about what our one says and does. I'd like him to rise above referee decisions, look at the bigger picture of the game as a whole and base his comments on that instead
  6. Maybe you should elaborate on that. And leave the 'pal'
  7. It wasn't a foul, he was just stronger than him. If it didn't hit Simpson's hand then it would have hit his body and still not gone in (it was a crap finish). If it doesn't hit Huth's hand the most likely scenario is Schmeichel catching the cross, or it flashes across the goal. Pelle is the only one near the 6 yard box and has 2 Leicester player right in front of him, and considering his lack of movement generally I very much doubt he'd have made any effort to make it. And even if the penalty is given, who's to say we would have scored it? We missed our last one anyway (a very soft penalty that was given for us that Koeman didn't mention unsurprisingly) Why doesn't Koeman focus his energies on what he can actually control (our poor attacking play) rather than whinge about things he has no control over?
  8. Neither are blatant penalties no. One is smashed into Huth from a few yards away with his hand by his side (not raised) and the Simpson one has also hit Simpson with his arm by his side. Have I seen them given before? Yes. Are they blatant? No. Sometimes you don't get the lucky calls form the ref and you just have to get on with it, and not moan like a ***** about it. And I didn't think it was a foul either, just a total mismatch and Morgan was stronger than Clasie, no surprise there. The referee wasn't the reason we only had 2 shots on target in the entire match, one of them being a speculative long range strike. That is the reason we lost today, we were not good enough to break them down and create openings, and rather than our manager coming out and whinging about debatable penalties, I'd rather he took a leaf out of Bertand's book and talked about how he's going to get this team creating more chances and scoring more goals
  9. Total rubbish. We lost because we were absolutely awful in the final third. Again
  10. A much better and more honest assessment than Koeman banging on about referee decisions
  11. He's become a complete joke. One week you see Long working his balls off for the team, relentlessly chasing defenders and forcing mistakes, and the next week you see Pelle with his hands on his hips (if not screaming in the ref's face) because the ball into him isn't inch perfect
  12. There aren't major questions. There were two handball calls, sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. That's football. Our attacking strategy was **** poor in that second half. Nothing but weak crosses into the box for the biggest two centre halves in the league to head away all day long. Rather than moaning about decisions maybe we should focus on actually creating some decent chances ourselves, and take referee decisions out of the equation?
  13. No but I've heard a journalist say recently that it's well known Koeman is after a bigger job, and not necessarily Barcelona/Holland but simply a top 6 PL club
  14. Why no gambling?
  15. Which he wouldn't sign
  16. Agree with all of this, he'd be perfect for us to play on the right in a good old fashioned 442 which I hope we will use more next season. I doubt he wants to come back here though and I think we'll be priced out, it wouldn't surprise me if he went to City or the like for 25 million+
  17. Yes joint with Mane i think, and that's no surprise as he's the most creative player in the squad. His form has been awful recently and he needs taking out of the team for a while. We need to have a rethink this summer about how we are going to use him next season as I just don't think playing him wide is getting the best out of him
  18. The game changed with the introduction of Wanyama. I am by far his biggest fan but these are the type of games he is made for. Against teams with flair players but no balls whatsoever (Coutinho, Allen, lallana) we need him to go in and get stuck into them and that's exactly what he did. He had the same impact against Arsenal when we won 4-0 up against Ozil. There is a level of physical intimidation that some of these big club players just can't handle. Even when JWP started getting among them they didn't like it. The first half was awful from everybody, although Lovren clearly should have gone for that penalty on Long that wasn't given at 0-0. A terrible day for some of our old boys. Mane ran Clyne ragged, Lovren had to be taken off at half time because he couldn't cope with Long and lallana had some nice touches without actually doing anything. Again. Liverpool just didn't have enough bottle in the team to deal with the pressure in the second half and they crumbled as a result What a great win
  19. This. Paying as much as we did for him (both fee and wages) and to then spend an entire season with him on the bench (and when he did come on he was played out of position) was stupid. Now he's been given a run of games up front he's proving to be a great asset. The only thing that's surprised me is his goals tally this year. If he'd played from the start of the season as first choice centre forward there's every chance he could have ended up with 15+ goals, which I wouldn't have thought he was capable of at this level (always thought he was more 10 a year). He's having a great season
  20. They struggle to score goals and with Long back I think we'll cause them problems. 1-1 draw
  21. I'd make more changes than most probably would want to. Out: Stekelenburg Kelvin Martina Yoshida Wanyama Juanmi Pelle In: Reliable goalkeeper as a no 2. Hopefully we can sign Stekelenburg permanently A first choice right back A young centre back (unless the club feel Stephens is ready to be in the first team squad) A Wanyama replacement A first choice right winger A first choice left winger, freeing up Tadic to play as a no 10 possibly GK: Forster, NEW RB: NEW, Cedric LB: Bertrand, Targett CB: Fonte, Van Dijk, Gardos, NEW CM: Clasie, Romeu, NEW, JWP RM: NEW, Davis LM: NEW, Tadic AM: Mane ST: Austin, Long, Rodriguez 6 or 7 out with the same coming in. We would need to replace Mane if he goes as well. Our wide options need completely rethinking. We have been playing players out of position there for the last 2 years (I think Tadic is more suited to a central role) so that's probably where I would focus
  22. Why do people make things so black and white? Gaston showed promise under Adkins but did not in any way fit into the defensive approaches of MP and Koeman, nor did he ever have an opportunity to play behind a more mobile and running striker (ironically I think he would have loved playing behind Long but oh well). At times he always wanted an extra second on the ball which was frustrating and it remains to be seen if he will ever be able to make an impact in the PL, but those writing him off as a useless player are just plain wrong I'm afraid. Cortese should never have signed him for the fee and contract that he did when he was always intending to bring in MP, whose style was totally unsuited to how Gaston needs to be used
  23. I've always thought they both play quite dull football. It's all about possession and not necessarily about what you do with it. I thought our most enjoyable performance this season was at home to Arsenal, we battered them and yet only had 35% of the ball. It's all a matter of opinion, but possession based football bores me to tears. Unfortunately for me that seems to be something the club are trying to proactively encourage judging by our last two managers as well as the young players being brought through, JWP being a prime example. The golden boy of the academy that keeps possession but does absolutely nothing with it.
  24. Liverpool were already losing when their man was sent off and it wasn't a CB that had been shown red. Quite a clear difference
