Very good. Until we are in a Greece like situation, the strikes will be not be treated with respect from their paymasters (the UK PLC and the Taxpayer). In fact, this sort of greed is the problem which leads to Greece like situations. Teachers should know better really, they should understand that the new generations are not going to be able to support all these retired public sector workers on inflated (market value) pensions. Heres my tip to the bin men which I am doing this year, and if I make it through to the next (fragile private sector industry): Dont take any holiday, save it as 'insurance'... so that when this silly crusdae fails you have a months salary/holiday pay to fall back on, as you are entitled to this money if you are dismissed, made redundant or your company goes into voluntary administration. This is my strategy, in case the company I work for collapses, to give me some breathing space. I guess if you are currently a striking bin man, your prosects must be pretty grim and you wouldnt stand a chance against the current competition and could be facing years on the 'rock and roll'. But still, good luck with the campaign of pricing yourself out of the job!

Sorry, but could somebody from the old guard explain to us MTV generations exactly what on earth 'pensions' and 'retirement' is? its a struggle to comprehend what all this is about, when the new generations are facing mortgage scale debts for their education and an outside chance of buying a home by the time you are 40 years old (average is currently 37 for first time buyers)... this all seems pretty bizzare to me So, the new generations are looking at dying before they finish their careers - pretty straight forward, just have to accept that this is the reality now. The people who will be funding these 'pensions' for you lot... so the public sector want to finish @ 60 years old, and the private have to support it by working untill they are 66/7/8/9...?... eh? it is getting very tiring listening to the old guard failing to accept the new economic realities we face.
