  1. That is quite astonishing. Rated above clubs who have been European Champions, are effectively national institutions.... Being in the Premier League really can be a blessing, but also a curse for being so competitive.
  2. Yes, this was mentioned by someone from the ticket office when they asked why I hadn't renewed my season ticket. A good idea, will help keep me in the loop.
  3. That is quite pathetic. But, give him an open wallet.....
  4. The equaliser against Blackpool in the Championship Rickie Lambert in injury time too. That took the roof off! We avoided defeat, but remained undefeated at home in a run that extended to a calendar year between defeats to Rochdale in League One and Bristol City in the Championship.
  5. Aside from the goal for Rickie v the Skates in the cup, two stick in my mind. 1) Rickie Lambert v Huddersfield. A thumping strike on the turn for a man who was out of form at the time. He utterly smashed the ball in instinctively against one of the strongest sides in the league to seal a 4-1 home victory when we were 1-0 down. 2) Chaplow v Peterborough Again, a great win against one of the strongest sides in League 1. A devastating break crossed into the box with Chappy finishing instinctively while at full stride, he ended up in the back of the net with the ball. Wonderful. A beautiful goal from one of my favourite players at the time. Quite surprised his goal v Man Utd hasn't yet been mentioned. That is an honourable mention. The two above goals showed that we had finally asserted ourself as onee of the best sides in League 1, we had recovered from the blip at the end of Pardew's time and Nigel Adkins had us finally capable of going up. It is so easy in hindsight to forget just how sh*te our start to that season was. (Supersonic you idiot i'm looking at you. We were in the bottom three at the end of September, 500 minutes without a goal and you have the temerity to say Adkins failed in getting us promoted in merely second place!? F**k off)
  6. Aside from that Newcastle game, he was quite sh*te. Would rather have Djuricic.
  7. Hmmm. I respect the benefit he has made since being here and do not begrudge him a move to a level of football we cannot currently provide. He could have caused a nightmare last summer but instead he stayed and was arguably our player of the season. I will wish him well so long as he genuinely progresses himself with his move. He is clearly Champions League standard. Apologies for the trolling. Xx
  8. Indeed, having Pelle and Austin competing for that one Striking spot though, pushing each other in in a forward line that could also include Long, Rodriguez, Tadic or Mane.... I've just had a moment, excuse me.
  9. This was inevitable. However, I would expect we havn't been standing still since he departed. Would be interesting to know if any confidentiality agreements were put down on our working methods.
  10. Just invite Wales and Scotland in as qualifiers. I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Imagine them hosting World Cup campaigns from their capitals in a British World Cup final! (Sorry Norn Iron.......)
  11. Make it the United Kingdom and we certainly do. Celtic Park Ibrox Murrayfield The Millennium Stadium Old Trafford The Ettihad St James' Park Stadium of Light The Riverside Stadium Anfield Elland Road Villa Park Ricoh Arena King Power Stadium Mollineux Stamford Bridge Wembley Olympic Stadium Emirates Stadium Redeveloped White Hart Lane Twickenham St Mary's Slight Expansions/Modernisation to the following will also bring them in line: Cardiff City Stadium Portman Road Brittania Stadium Carrow Road Ashton Gate (Rebuilding well under way) City Ground (30,500 capacity. Big enough for the group stages) KC Stadium St Andrews Goodison Park (Mainly access issues around the ground, more then big enough.) Not to mention an established Hotel, conference and media network and transport infrastructure that copes with 4 divisions of domestic professional football and many hundreds of thousands of spectators travelling for approx 40 weeks a year. Any suggestions that we as a United Kingdom or even England alone wouldn't be able to host a world cup tomorrow are frankly laughable, just as they would be with countries like Italy, Spain, The USA, Germany and many of the established nations on earth. That the countries wanting to host these things need to enter into massive Stadium building efforts already is part of the reason the World Cup has become so corrupt and unsustainable in the first place.... the needs of business begin to outweigh the sporting requirements, All you need are Eight modern Stadia, one for each group to host the matches and go from there. Any of the bigger countries in the world could create a workable business and logistical plan for a world cup in an evening on that basis.
  12. The space has been cleared for a new group of pigs who want to put their snouts in the trough.
  13. Yeah probably. Ker-ching
  14. It is perfectly logical. You can respect the relative professionalism and honesty of a Morgan compared to the hyperbole and b*llsh(t from a Lallana.
  15. He threw his toys out the pram but then knuckled down after realising it wouldn't get him anywhere. That you can respect. When he wore our colours he always tried.
  16. There was a good documentary on the BBC recently about Bradford. The point was made that the city held a 'Private dignity' in it's aftermath, their lack of constant screaming for attention over the horror of it a sign of the place's mentality and desire for normality to get on with their lives... hence the lack of subsequent drama.
  17. Fair play to Norwich. Alex Neil has done one hell of a job.
  18. Makes a change from SaintRichmond talking to itself...... I think....
  19. A very interesting point...
  20. So it would seem. Que sera sera.
  21. Oh Liverpool, Hilarious. Obviously I want us to finish above them, but their humiliation is just joy in itself.
  22. That is quite offensive. I personally believe that the right for self determination is worth fighting for, that something as critical as the Lisbon treaty could be forced onto the country without a single word of debate or consultation with the electorate is one of the biggest insults and aberrations of the modern political era. That is not myopia, or a little Englander mentality, it is idealism in the belief that our country should be able to make it's own decisions, on it's own merits to suit it's own circumstances. The repercussions of being in or out should be debated so that a fully informed opinion can be formed, of course, but to insult those who ideologically oppose EU membership is quite simply wrong.
