    Budget

I'm not expecting things to be rosey. Looking at the outside world it's not going to be. When will you red-backsided lot realise that we need to live sensibly to stand any chance in the face of a world full of countries who are destroying the wealth advantage that previously existed that you lot helped to squander..... and there is nothing, nothing that Labour would have done significantly differently to the current status quo to make any difference. We are about to enter the first generation in living memory where the living standards will be worse then the previous one. Prepare for the storm, do not sleep walk into it. As for poor and disabled people downsizing the UK, no..... But there is a generation of people who feel entitled to take from the state not contribute to it. A creation of Labour's environment that undermine's the welfare state's very point.... a creation that should support the needy but be supported itself by those who work. This country has never been as rich as Labour believed, and it propped up a generation. Now they are feeling a pinch due to their arrogance and shortsightedness. Do I think Labour intended ruin? No, but they pandered to easy answers and popular swell. Their idiocy nearly f**ked us all.

Downsizing and destruction are not the same thing you know. Come to mention it, how can you destroy the NHS by pouring more money into it? Is that the same principle as Labour commissioning more hospitals then leaving the next administration the bill? (But they are so evil!!!! Having to pay for our contractual obligations.....)

At the very least the 33% who didn't bother turning up should indeed stfu! It was the highest turnout since Blair. Yet I do not remember placards and protests when only 59% turned out in 2001.
  4. I don't hate them, I pity them. It's quite funny that they have no modern ideas of their own so try and steal those of others and always wonder why it never quite works for them. Better to follow a team that punches above it's weight then one that will always aspire to more then is achievable. The unexpected is always more enjoyable then the events you feel entitled to.
  5. I was more specifically referring to the 'grass.....'
  6. Scandalous accusation!!!
  7. Clearly expecting Hesketh to be the next big thing!
  8. For the outlay we have put in I would give Ramirez one last chance. Some of those passes were exquisite and he we have the creative options to give him the possibility of space to work. Wouldn't work against everyone, and it's easy enough to suss out (but equally, mark Ramirez out of it, create more space for our quick guys) and will be another option.
  9. English or British? Manchester United with Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Brown, G. Neville, P. Neville, Ferdinand, Sheringham, A. Cole etc....... They would have to be the last before Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City. At a push you can also chuck in O'Shea and Roy Keane..... at a push..... (Well, O'Shea would surely could as home grown.)
  10. 1) Unlikely, mainly due to a combination of the standard of English coaching and the sheer numbers game which stipulates that there will be more players of quality in the rest of the world's population compared with the 50 million or so English population base. The PL is a global spectacle and the richest league on the planet, therefore it can mop up the best talent. 2) The intake of foreign players is just making the best of the numbers stated in point 1. As for losing identity? That will only happen if we abandon the academy.

It's just a figure plucked from the air as an example of something we cannot compete with, it's not been quoted.

    Smoke and mirrors.
  13. It depends on the context. Have we been in this position for a decade like Everton or have we just started to tap on the door? It's clearly the later. We are not going to break open the door immediately, but there is a structure in place that has seen us make remarkable progress to challenge them in the first place. We need to give this time to see what the club can do in the medium term.... Short termism and knee jerk reactions like yours Alpine will only be counter productive. Sorry chap.

My response wasn't intended to offend Redslo, although I can see how my sarcasm may. It simply is that my experience of dealing with North Americans is utterly typified by your general behaviour and demeanour. Have you ever read the book 'The Miracle of Castel di Sangro?' An excellent book written by the late Joe McGinness and the level of self righteous indignation and idealism he displays at the book's end go hand in hand with your feelings towards this situation. All naively focused on the contractual details rather then the human element which is part of life. On that basis I did find what you posted amusing.
  16. And already that has been spammed by childish Spurs fans.

So damn yankie. Go self righteous one go.

I know the history. But this is too indirect for this to be the straw that breaks the camel's back, it would be too petty on our part. Atleti are the ones being dishonourable should the smoke signals be accurate.
  19. Colinjb

    Toby

Why? They havn't done anything wrong. If anyone has dropped the ball it's Atletico.

It would be one hell of a sign of progress if we can tempt a player to come here over Spurs, even considering the relationship that already exists. Fingers crossed.

Then why did you argue with yourself in the previously posted link? Clearly an habitual liar, just do one.

Do I really need to link to it again? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?50215-The-New-Manager-Thread&p=1957533#post1957533 What a prat.
  23. Marcus f**king Bent.... On the same lines... Stewart Downing for 'Boro in Twitchy's first game and our very own Steven Davis for Villa. That Everton goal was just the putrid icing on a festering cake of a season.
  24. The goal that made no difference, at all, to anything. It is hilarious in hindsight.
