The team:
Cropper, Mason, Clinton, Debayo, Wood, Little, Flannigan, Irvine, Hesketh, Rowe, Seager.
The forward line is decent enough, not sure about the defence though.
I would give credit to Pardew too, he really changed the entire mentality of the dressing room. Stories of his team talks during the 2009 pre-season were quite stirring.
A current Hungarian international! Just checked, he played v England in 2010, his international debut. Since amassed 17 caps, and a goal v San Marino. The year before he signed for us he couldn't get a game at Southend and was sent on loan to Stevenage.
Honestly, the more I look at it, the more 'meh' I feel about it. It is just a functional away shirt for me, will buy it as I always do but don't dislike it, don't feel enthralled.
Ahhh. "Laid up." Surely no need for your edit then Bearsy.
My memories of daytime tv during gardening leave last year are less the favourable. Browsing YouTube became rather compulsive though.
Yes...but you were responsible for putting Saints on the national footballing map in the first place.....
But you sir saved the club in it's darkest hour.....
That would be a great debate to see.
I swear... on that Saturday he had the game of his life! Ha! Bradley Wright-Phillips on the other hand, born offside..... more-so even then Papa Waigo.
I do remember Bennett slowly growing into his role though despite his truly appalling first game. Up at Coventry (a 1-1 draw...) he was absolutely imperious and saved us from losing, keeping nearly every Coventry break down with some excellent and brave tackling.
And then his loan expired.
