Looks like the protests may be forcing the tournament to be abandoned. Local media is suggesting this, the competing teams are fearing for their safety.

Played 45 minutes in their first game against Spain. Looked ok. Played central midfield behind the strikers, tracking back to defend and surging forward to support their attack. Didn't do anything exceptional but equally did nothing wrong. Was substituted to try something different tactically in the second half... it didn't work.

He should tear up the championship. Adkins' time managing Punch should help him keep the reigns on this guy.

I have to disagree. But then that is more about personal preference then club identity and I do respect that.

You are missing the point by boiling it down to logic. This is an emotional argument. Deep down, it's football... who cares what the team wear so long as they win, right? Massively wrong. It is identity, the identity we have associated with the the majority of our lives... even those who remember the blue shorted days will have known the now accepted format over the last 60 years... given a 90 year old fan that is in excess of 2/3's of their life. It is what we identify with and associate with our team.

It is your right to not care and hold a contrary opinion. I respect that.... respect our right to overwhelmingly disagree and desire to at least try to do something about it.

It doesn't matter. It's about what people want now. Hindsight has no relevance if there is discontent now. Riots used to be crushed with armed force back in the day. Should we do that in Brazil now? (Extreme example, yes.... but your unfeeling pragmatism has no place here, in a fundamentally emotional argument. We like the kits we have grown up with, known and identify with, we want to keep them!!)

Not all of us accept it like that. Transition occurs, but I and essentially everyone I know socially who support Saints do not. F**k the red kits. We are Southampton... we are red AND white. #saveourstripes

I'm not so worried about our own education system now.... I'm sure that has been edited to emphasise the bad. Nonetheless every American I have met seems to be at least a little ignorant/uneducated about some relatively straightforward things. Particularly when it comes to the rest of the world. Even the chavs down my local understand the concept of a 'mosque.' Did lol when the guy described Al Qaeda as an offshoot of the Masons....
