  1. Agreed. It was however good to see that the request in my 'location' was finally followed. They re-opened the beer bar in the family end v Walsall. Sadly the ONE (!?!) member of staff attending it didn't know what hit him. By the half time whistle it was already queuing back up to the other end of the concourse. And they ran out of beer after serving less the half of the people waiting....... Some party. The sales opportunities lost. They could have made one heck of a lot more. What would be the problem in buying in more reserves? It's not like the bottles will go off!!!
  2. He who laughs last......
  3. Sales of a new Sash would be nowhere near this year's quantity. It worked so well because it was a one year celebration/novelty. The return to the stripes will also have a similar effect (the return to our more commonly associated strip,) and therefore sell more. I wouldn't expect sales of the new shirt to match the Sash in any case, that was a success beyond the wildest expectations of many.
  4. He does. He is about the only thing keeping my town of residence's football club in the limelight. Cov will really struggle next year, so every little helps for them.
  5. Watch him get sold on now.
  6. Whereas I've always quite liked it! Still one of my favourites to wear.
  7. Still, it's a funny notion.
  8. Bless. Mistaking a miss-match for an honest win. Says it all. We're coming for you you Skate filth.... I would warn you to be ready, but you know as well as we do that you won't know what hit you. Enjoy my fish fiddling friend.
  9. Most innapropriate promotion reward. Taking 17 year old Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Las Vegas.
  10. How about 'unlikely transfer rumour,' Aaron Martin to West Ham.
  11. Connolly: Yes, One year contract extension. He has earnt it through his end of year form. He stood up to be counted when we needed him most of all. Jaidi: Yes, One year again. He is beginning to lose his legs though now. Wonderful player for us but he should no longer be first choice. Martin: Yes, Three year deal. I rate him as back-up. As I have stated in prior threads though I rate Seaborne ahead of him. The comparison between them v Blackpool was very telling. Seaborne was very assured, Aaron was not, looked very shakey. He should be allowed time to develop. Sign him up and loan him back to a Yeovil for a few months, let him get regular league experience. Holmes: No, Release him. A wasted talent, his body just cannot cope with the professional game. Had too much too young maybe? Butterfield: Yes, Experienced and dependable. Gobern: I would say... Yes. Similar to Martin, sign him up, loan him out and see how he does. He has looked ok when i've seen him (dodgy tackle v the Cherries notwithstanding.) Harding: No brainer. First choice LB for me.
  12. A great shame, but also a guy who's been nursing cruciate ligament injuries throughout his career. Realistically speaking he would always be behind the younger and more able Joe Hart in the england ranks so to do this and preserve his fitness makes sense for him.
  13. What happened?
  14. Hopefully soon.
  15. Open until Friday 8pm for nominations. Then a poll perhaps mods? My nomination: Guly do Prado v Blackpool. FA Cup 3rd Round.
  16. You know the kind of thing. Most calamatous mistake. Funniest moment. Best O.G. What kind of off the wall awards could we give to our team, or teams we have played against, this season? My first thought........ The "Most unlikely turn of pace" award: The Linesman from the Kingsland end sprinting to avoid the innevitable pitch invasion at the end of the Walsall game.
  17. The Coundon, in Coventry has never let me down. As for back home. I love the Gurkha Chef in Winchester.
  18. Training tonight was horrible. Despite drinking water non-stop since midday Sunday I was utterly hanging. Got through it though, it should get easier!!!
  19. Sorry, didn't quite catch that. What did the fish fiddler say?
  20. Pressumably all those born in Swaythling should support Eastleigh. Typical screwed up Skate logic.
  21. Could be some mileage in that.
  22. He tried a little too hard to be funny. The initial WTF when he went on the pitch to talk to Kelvin did make me laugh though.
  23. Looks to be a very similar cut to our Sash shirt. Particularly the collar.
  24. Was really dissapointed that we didn't have a DVD for last season so hopefully there will be one for this year.
  25. Apparently their away support is crap.
