  1. link or cut and paste anyone?
  2. Unfortunately it's not that simple is it. If Cortese always did what the fans wanted, Pardew would not have been sacked and Nige would never have been appointed manager! Who knows what div we would be in now, or how attractive we would be to watch or how many of our better players would have left for other pastures? I don't necessarily want Champs League Football either, but I want us to win every game we play. If a team is sucessful and wins more often than they lose, then European Football will be a consequence. Do you look at the fixtures and say I really don't want us to win too many games as we might qualify for Europe? Whenever we lose I'm annoyed. Do you sometimes think great, we lost that one, so we're less likely to get in the top 4? Would you really be happier if we were a mid-table or struggling Championship side, playing in front of 12K empty seats, getting turned over by teams like Brighton, Blackpool, Bolton and Leeds each week. Yes we all want a club that treats its employees properly, but I think you're dreaming if you think Nigel (and the majority of our talented players) would stick around at SMS if we had been relegated at the end of this season and became the "lower division team" you'd be proud to support. Plus, how many people have jobs at SFC purely because we are back in the prem, who would otherwise be unemployed if we dropped back down a div or two? Don't get me wrong, I would rather that Nige was still in charge, (just like I wanted Pardew to still be in charge when Nige was appointed, how wrong was I there!), but I'm a Saints fan rather than a fan of any single manager and i hope this appointment proves to be as inspired at Adkins' appointment was. Nige took us to the next level, perhaps Pochettino can do the same. Perhaps Marcus is looking down and is pleased with the sucess of the club under Cortese and the fact that we employ more people now that a few years back despite the terrible recession?
  3. I'd be less surprised to see Nige at Chelsea than Blackpool!
  4. Thanks for resurrecting our club Nigel. Will look forward to him returning to SMS in charge of another team so we can give him a hero's welcome.
  5. This happened to me in an old VW Scirocco I used to own. Typically just before a MOT (it would've been a failure). It was a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure I got a kit from halfords to re-attach it. You glue a little bit of gauze to the 'screen and then use a second glue on the base of the mirror itself and stick the two together. Worked really well, the mirror stayed on the screen for the few more years I owned the car.

  7. False Widow spider? There are now very common in the south, I find them in my shed and I encounter them at work all the time, (they love living in the temperature controlled Air Quality Monitoring Cabins that I visit every so often). Their bite is similar to a bee/wasp sting.
  8. I know Leon and he is pretty sensible for a skate.
  9. Yeah I'm pretty sure the ATM pin number thing does not work. What if your pin was pallendromic, you'd have the cops showing up every time you got a tenner out!
  10. Surely your decision in the above dilema would be based on more than just looks. An 18 year old that looked 10 would probably be able to betray her young looks by the maturity of her conversation etc. The 10 year old would also soon give herself away as being a child by what she says and how she acts. My girlfriend is the eldest of 5 sisters, with a 17 year age gap between her and the youngest, all of the sisters are very tall, slim and attrative. One sister at age 14 (5ft 11) was chatted up by a bloke in his mid 20's, she later found out he thought she was around 22. This guess of her age was clearly based upon her height and physical maturity, he engaged her in converasation and offered to buy her a drink, but within seconds of the conversation starting he asked her how old she was. He was very surprised, but it only took seconds of conversation for her immaturity to shine through. The difference is a paedo would take advantage of this immaturity, whereas a person without paedophillic tendancies, will offer a quick appology and retreat.
  11. I've heard that the fancy dress costumes are so popular that some sizes have already sold out. If you want to buy one, there are still some some adult sized tracksuit tops available, but you will have to squeeze into children's bottoms.
  12. What a welcome surprise when someone actually submits a post of grounded well reasoned comment on this forum!
  13. My brother in law has written android apps before, I can give you his contact details if you like.
  14. Nice article, and I really hope that Ramirez turns out to be the star that we all want him to be. But lets not forget that this article is from the official premier league website, where every piece is written in a positive light to hype up the premier league. It is not as if they would publish an article saying that that are worried that he'll be a flop! I'm hoping the hype is true, but I'm going to reserve judgement until I've seen him play a few times.
  15. I really didn't think this would happen, I was certain that Liverpool or Spuds would dive in at the last minute and snatch him away. Really hope he lives up to all the hype now and that we do actually have the financial backing to make signings like this in the first place. COYR!
  16. Anyone thinking, like me, that we need to free up some cash in a hurry to sign Ramierez on Bologna's "money up front" terms and this is the way the club can do it. RL is a saints legend and I would hate to see him go, but perhaps NC and NA see Gaston and the other younger players we are signing as the future. How much will RL be valued at at the end of this season when he is another year older? On paper it makes good business sense, I just hope it makes sense on grass too, if this is the path we take.
  17. Ahhh, so the highlights are on Thursday, didn't think to look that far ahead in the schedules, I assumed that they would be on tonight or tomorrow. Many thanks MLG and Miss Smunt :-)
  18. Speaking of this game and TV, are there going to be any highlights on terestrial TV? There always used to be highlights during the week of Carling Cup ties back in the day, couldn't see anything in the schedules for this week though.
  19. But were Leeds not historically sucessful, because they had a big fan base back in the day, when punters through the turnstile was a clubs biggest income by far. When were Leeds Man U, Man City, Liverpool and Wigan founded? Surely they both have had pleanty of time to become the dominant forces in their respective areas and therefore attrach a large fan base?
  20. Just to play devils advocate though, surely you could use those facts to make the opposite arguement. Man City, Manure, Liverpool and Everton etc. all have to compete against each other for support in an area where egg-chasing is popular, but they all manage it far better than Wigan. Lets face it Wigan is only known as a RL town because their footy club is so small and poorly supported. Leeds is a big RL town, but I don't ever remember them pulling out the "Rubgy Town" excuse! So surely it is fair to make derogatory judgement about there very poor levels of support.
  21. Some of my skate mates on facebook were boasting about their great support with 17K at Fortress Fatpipes. So I just gave them a bit of perspective by quoting the Saints v Bournemouth attendance in L1: 26,289. Small club with small support, no wonder they find themselves in their current predicament.
  22. Dalek for me too. Mods why isn't this a poll yet?
  23. The fact that two of the players we have just released out on loan both scored on their debuts does make me feel happy about the quality we now have in the squad. Only four years ago Forte and Barnard would have probably been in our starting XI rather than being 5th and 6th choice strikers.
  24. Pleased to see we are strengthening one of Pompey's L1 opponents. Fingers crossed he scores against them (if they're not already toast by the time that fixture comes round).
  25. I wonder if one of the 10 signings is going to be Riquelme?
