Football Special replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Last time we were in the championship we got Liverpool away in 5th round of fa cup that was also midweek, took 5500 up for that, can't see many going this time A friend just reminded me they lost to Plymouth last season so you never know -

Agree. I'd be in favour of boycotting the game , complete fix -
He basically watches the Bundesliga and picks out a few names from that doesn't he
-
Agree on ABK, probably on Ings but doubt anyone would be hugely shocked if he scores more than our strikers this season

Ticket releases for August and Portsmouth games?
Football Special replied to Ekimr's topic in The Saints
That's a truly horrendous away day really, I can't see getting tickets for Pompey away being a problem if we're doing the same. Looks like travel price has been reduced. Surely they will all need to arrive in one go so coaches will be a convoy, Fratton to Lakeside then on to Winchester then all travel together from there? Could make it a two hour journey from Fratton then , if I was them I'd get the train to Winchester to limit time stuck on a bus -
Ticket releases for August and Portsmouth games?
Football Special replied to Ekimr's topic in The Saints
About 500 left, either side of away fans. I think the ticket office should use the police football intelligence database to ring around every Saints fan considered a risk and offer them half price seats next to the away section, need to up our game here. -
Armel Bella-Kotchap - Official: Signs for Verona
Football Special replied to Ldnsaint's topic in The Saints
There's not a chance on earth theyd pay 7M, and also we're not extending that contract. Nice to have him off the books -
Feels like we always draw 1-1 at Vicarage Road, so probably correct prediction that
-
Nice to get a 3-0 away win, been a while since we had a result like that. McCarthy kept us in the game, or certainly felt like that at times, Norwich certainly had a lot of chances. Good finishing by Archer, definitely needs someone to create space for him, no point playing him or Armstrong as loan striker 3rd round draw tonight where we enter the fix stage of this competition, 8 European teams in Champions league or Europa league kept apart, pretty much ensuring all the big names get through which no doubt pleases the sponsors and tv companies assured of viewing figures and advertising revenue, farcical competition Hopefully we get Lincoln, Wycombe or Port Vale

I might have dream it, was it hinted Ankerson / data analysis had shown that was best approach?
-
Don't know much about their side
-
It's been mentioned before hasn't it? Under previous managers
-
The only explanation I think can be he has such little faith in his goalkeepers he has to sacrifice midfield to stick another defender in the way. Also once again can't see where the goals will come from
-
Imagine losing 1-0 away at Charlton BBD scored the winner then gives Nath a shoulder ride on their lap of honour at the final whistle I honestly wouldn't be surprised
-
I think you have summed that up well, also possible we're playing 5 at the back to provide more cover due to weakness in goalkeeper position
-
It's on sky+ so should be available, not sure how you find that on NowTV
-
Deluded. Answer is either a) don't let Ramsdale go on loan if we can't replace him with a decent loan in return or b) keep Ramsdale c) sell Ramsdale and replace him with a proper perm replacement

Sounds like you have a few anecdotes you could entertain us with Mr Codger 😉 -

He wasn't that bad......at BASKETBALL! never known a player love a handball as much as him -
It will almost certainly be on the profit, that's fairly standard on sell on % deals
-
They wouldn't I agree. I meant keep and play Ramsdale under contract unless offered £20M, get money back on him and recruit proper replacement
-
Some golden posts on there, how teams must love it when Sports Republic come calling , I remember Torino fans rejoicing when we bought Lyanco for example "Thank you Southampton you beautiful clueless bastards!"
-
Don't loan out your first pick then, unless you have a good enough replacement available, which we clearly didn't
-
Think there's a few trolls who know that but are enjoying winding up Saints fans on this thread, he's one of them
