It’s a shame really because after he did the Gary Linekar interview just over a year ago it sounded like he had total realisation at the mistakes he’d made. But to then go to two different clubs, alienate two fanbases, a captain, toss experienced players to the side - and he wonders why people criticise.

West Ham have an immense amount of squad depth. I think we can easily compete with them, for us though it depends on a players form and how up for it they are. My concern with us is over the course of the season we don’t have enough game changers off the bench. Time will tell whether it’s needed, but we should be more than able to compete.

Agreed. All the fanfare and media love in has done is show they have money to spend. The calibre of player that has gone there was in my opinion of decent quality and Premier League ambition and they’ve sold that ambition for a quick payday because Wrexham can out blow more established clubs in terms of wages. This will die out over the years as they spend tens of millions on unambitious players and they will only further slump. You’re telling me that Broadhead or Doyle went to Wrexham for “footballing reasons” - lol! Reminds me of QPR, or Ahnzi Mackakala (Russian team that pissed away millions), etc.

Wolves are a basket case of a club. West Ham too, but they have enough talent. Wrexham are the darlings of the media, but are shit. Boro are on the redemption arc that everyone is rooting for but will come short. We’ll finish top two.

All teams have to do is press us and we panic a bit, more so on our own penalty area. I’ve enjoyed watching the way we’ve countered for a number of goals this season, we seem to have got better in terms of lulling a team forward through boredom and then breaking through the lines quickly.

JWP has never been a flashy player, he just does the basics right. The simple pass when it’s best and the risky ball when the pressure is off, effective football. Constantly moving into space for a pass and bringing others into the game. We are a lot more effective with him in a game like this than Shea Charles would’ve been. There will be people that slag him off and have a continuous grudge, but in all seriousness he has done nothing wrong, more impressive given he’s hardly played for two years. Ignoring Larin and Peretz who played for us last season, JWP has been our signing of the summer.
