Imagine leaving a team that was top of the Championship for a team destined to get relegated from the Premier League, get relegated with one of the worst efforts to stay up and then get sacked before the following season starts having agreed a deal to bring back their former star striker. Wolves could be just as funny as West Ham this season. 🤣

More pundits need to highlight this. The US are a shambles and FIFA are as bent as anything.
-
It’s already been touted as the greatest World Cup there has ever been. Donald said it, so it must be true. 🤣
-
Even if he came back, his corners were dog shit for years. Manning to take everything.

The club's financial outlook (2026/27 season and beyond)

It’s always been touted but nothing has ever come of it. Southampton waterfront and the Itchen River front has so much potential, but it just needs someone to come in with a few billion. Simple. 😉 -
Alex McCarthy looks set to retire. Unconfirmed, just from someone I know. Surprised the full released/retained list hasn’t been done yet.
-
Five years ago they were different players. They could easily have the impacts of Walcott or Romeu on their return.
-
Has Steve Gibson demanded a fine and points deduction yet?

Watched it now. Good series, 6/10 max for the movie is all I’d give. Decent watch but not something you’d be going back to like the original Jack Ryan films.
-
Reform, Nigel Farage, Rupert Lowe. Anyone that backs them.
-
I don’t see him coming back, but then again I didn’t see him leaving so what do I know 😂

People that can’t park a car properly. Normally female, normally driving in forwards, normally in an 4x4 and normally parked across two bays.

Or any “celeb” that turns up and Sky have to try and interview. No one cares.

JWP was excellent when he was next to an enforcer like Oriol Romeu, and actually in his early career under Koeman when he made cameo appearances I thought he did ok in a attacking midfield position. But a deep holding midfielder isn’t the player I’d be looking for in him. We want creativity. Downes, Charles, Jander and Bragg already cover that box-to-box/holding midfield role.
-
“Testing the waters” in regards to JWP, or any player linked with coming back is a tad over the top. Seriously if you were brokering a deal would you really give a shit what people thought? Probably not, so long as you get paid a handsome wedge.

Adam Blackmore tweeting about James Ward-Prowse - not seen a single person ask for him or even mention him on the timeline.

Said it on the Tom Fellows thread back in November I think: Excellent pace, can’t fault his endless stepovers, but doing the same dummy, sprinting to the goal and crossing it to the keeper time and time again is not a benefit to the team. I also said how underwhelming a signing he was when he did join and said I haven’t actually seen him do anything of note in his career so far. Proving to be right on that front, just haven’t got the effort to bump my comment on the thread. 😂

Even Ferguson loan from Brighton, but given he played for Roma last season I doubt it

Two things I’ve seen circulating on Twitter: The first, a tweet saying Harwood-Bellis is staying - clearly a wind up, no source, facts, just baiting. The second, a tweet saying there is a big name Championship player moving to Southampton in the next few days. The bio says he works for The Athletic, then you clock he only has 140 followers. Silly season has begun. 😂😂😂

I think the FA need to be very careful, they’ll be weighing up all sorts. No fine/punishment could effectively mean the EFL shit the bed and went into overkill too harshly. Fuss over nothing etc. Then you have to think about how other bans have been in the past, the reasonings. For example if Tonda was banned for six months for being aware of a teenager spying compared to someone who has been outright racist and banned for five matches - tells you what they deem worse. But I do commend the FA for keeping everything behind closed doors and not leaking shit. Same with the club too. Personally I think he’ll get a small touch line ban of maybe four games and that’ll be that.

James Bree - Signs Until 2029 (Official)
Willo of Whiteley replied to goodymatt's topic in The Saints
I heard off a mate it was done. Not saying I’m ITK but it was the same guy that mentioned to me about Aaron Ramsdale in early August and Ryan Fraser later that month two years ago. 🤷🏻♂️ Got the impression it was more a case of “spread the good news out, let it simmer etc”. -
Exactly this, purely angling for a better deal. Nothing wrong with that. But the club could easily call his bluff and say “that’s fine, we’ve moved on”, equally he could get crocked at the World Cup and be shit out of luck and without a salary again. Risky move more by his side than ours. I have confidence we’d look to the market for the right kind of player now.

I wouldn’t blame him, and equally I don’t think it’s the end of the world -

Excellent interview, amazing what a difference a week makes -
We could just buy a better striker?
