Agree with the above from @lambtiss. Sadly, I don’t think that’ll be the case. To sack the manager and then practically 48 hours later bring in a former fan favourite who is seen as a leader is a little sus in itself. It could be that it’s been in the pipeline for weeks but personally I don’t buy it, it’s another way of distracting the fanbase from their own mistakes. I have no doubt Oriol Romeu is an asset but let’s not be fooled by this. We’ll probably hire some 3rd division Bundesliga manager as Will Still’s replacement.

Unfortunately, their latest diversion tactic is to bring back a former player they didn’t want three years ago because he “didn’t fit the business model”. And fans are lapping it up

As mentioned on TSP last night, if he comes to Saints there is no honeymoon period. No time to get fans onside. One goal down or one defeat and he’s lost the fans immediately.

I think if he hadn’t taken another job after Saints, and having done that interview with Gary Lineker which he alluded he had learnt a lot about that experience (recruitment, tactics etc), he would be a bit more welcome back. Bizarre post, I’d argue up until the Swansea game it was, a win at that point would’ve taken us into the play offs. It was the lack of finishing that punished us. Pretty much what I’ve said for weeks, couldn’t agree more. Everyone calls for Will Still’s sacking but most fail to come up with any realistic candidates. It’s slim pickings out there unless SR pull off a masterstroke of an appointment. But we all know they won’t.
