Not opened the link, but they certainly have some good players ... makes a change from last year when to be honest I don't think I'd ever heard of the majority of the opposition squad!! Carlos Edwards, Chopra and that nauseating little git Lee Bowyer could all cause us problems. With Bowyer nipping peoples ankles and mouthing off all game Chopra's experience and guile some cool heads will need to be on display tonight. I think Ipswich should be looking to play an open game, which like the passing game Barnsley tried, but dismally failed to implement should suit us. 2 home losses on the bounce and high expectations could mean a good start for us would get the home crowd on the players backs if things aren't going well.

Used them a few times back in the late 70's when they were just starting up, to get to games that none of my mates were going to, or difficult to get to such as Grimsby FA Cup, Bolton Prom season, Preston L Cup, Norwich got there 20 mins late due to their 'can't get there too early policy' and ended up in a massive traffic jam after wasting valuable 'stalling' time at a service station, Burnley Prom season in the snow, and Ipswich - which was the only one to have the bonus of stopping in some small town in Suffolk instead of a Motorway service Station for the final colostomy bag emptying stop - and lo and behold there were a couple of pubs near the Car park - result 3 pints in 30 helped soften the blow!!! The only good thing I suppose was getting back relatively early so that you could go out for a few beers when you got home - but that didn't feel like a part of The Match day experience, just what you did every week. Back in the day of course we didn't have such luxuries as videos, toilets or even Bingo, but even then the slightest sign of enthusiasm was met with total indifference or even distain. I think my favourite Travel club moment was our covoy of about 4 coaches arriving in the car park at Ipswich (where there always seemed to be trouble with us back then) and being met by loads of Old Bill. Before we were allowed off the coach an officer got on the coach and read us the riot act about going straighgt to the ground, no pubs (as if we had time to!!) and that the coaches would leave immediately after the game finished, no hanging on for stragglers etc, then as we got off the coach we were all searched. I think they got a serious amount of knitting needles and toenail clippers that day.... and then frog marched off to the ground ...brilliant stuff. Football factory eat your heart out. End of the day though, the serve a section of the fan base that their service is ideal for, just not my cuppa tea.

Yes the boy does look good, but most of that (if not all the stuff I watched) seemed to be from his days in Norway several years ago - has he stepped up a gear in Italy or regressed against higher standard opposition? A couple of points to bear in mind based mainly on the 1st vid - 1/ Probably more of an impact sub at a stage of the game when the TV cameras have us attacking left to right, about 90% of the goals seemed to be like that!! 2/ He certainly needs a bit of coaching on his goal celebrations 3/ You could have warned us about the music FFS!! I've started listening to the opposition teams taters as they tend not to disappear for updates of Totton V Brockenhurts Rovers or some such top attraction during the match!! I don't think Leeds and possibly Mboro are in "The Player" availablility, presumably have their own agreement with local radio or even their own station?

Post match he slaughtered them, saying see these guys aren't as good as they (and you) think they are ..... just to justify his non selection of any of them for league matches despite the 1st team being absolute turds. It was a similar situation when he joined - 1st comment was I need a miracle and at least 6 new players to keep this lot up. I guess embarrassment isn't quite the right emotion i wa feeling but it was truly awlful.

That doesn't make it acceptable though does it? Match Day threads are probably the time I am most likely to use this Board owing to my location, and this is repeated all over the country and world. People who may not have access to Radio Solent or saints Player are relying on up to the second updates and then BANG .... week in week out the last most crucial part of the game becomes a frustrating farce on here. I thought there were supposed to be upgrades and improvements made. Christ it was even slower than normal for friendly matches .... what hope now we are on the march and more interest is generated.
