With the exception of Delgado, all those players are ones that had already had their day. With that it has to be Delgado. I remember when Saints unvailed him at Ipswitch home 01/02 and showed loads of video footage on the big screens at half time. We were all drooling at his ability. In the end it was him drooling at the wages he yielded for doing pretty much f*ck all.

Clearly the purchase of Delap for 4m was gonna stay as our record purchase for some time - we've been playing most of our football in lower divisions since then. The only time I was really scared at a football match was the Saints v Man Utd game in 2005. I was so nervous before the game at the pub, really not enjoying the pre match beers. I remember going to the game and the first thing that hit me in the concourse was worried Saints fans looking up at the telly watching Rooney, Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy etc all warming up and obviously expecting to play rather than being rested for the cup final the following week. At that point I knew it was all over for us that day. If we do get promoted this year, I'll look back at this day.

Make no mistake we got lucky in this game. They should have been 2 up at half time and got in behind us so many times in the 2nd half before we scored. But once we scored there was no looking back. Our midfield just took the p1ss and we were suddenly the side we saw a month or so ago. Just goes to show its a confidence game. I think we could go on from here.

But most people wont bother if they only get 2 tickets a season. That would mean 2 x £15 extra per game. I think this whole argument only comes into play if we get in the prem. In the NPC, most games are easy to get tickets for if you are on the database. Tickets for games like Pompey should be allocated depending on how many games youve been to on your online login or database reference.

To be fair it wasnt a dirty game and probably an easy game to ref. It wouldnt have been the end of the world for either teams to lose and almost had the feel of a reserve game.

It would definatily be needed it we go up. In the prem I used to spend £20 a year for a membership. Then for every home gome us members would get first dibs, then ST holders who want other tickets, then general. It meant I got in before people who only wanted to go to one game a year.
