  1. Did Scholes really say that?
  2. Or just score more goals than them?
  3. Nah, Fash's take out at Plough Lane, he didnt even wait around for the red card, just started walking off.
  4. True story: At my son’s school, the receptionist/secretary there was called Miss Tessem. She was fairly fit, maybe mid twenties and very nice in manner as well. One day I had to go and pick him up and whilst I waited in reception I said, ”So, your name, Tessem? You’re not related to Joe Tessem are you” And she laughed and said “yes, I am actually” ”Right, is he your dad?” And she said, “No, he’s my husband”! Fair play Joe

To be honest, I couldn’t care less if we stay down. And yeah, maybe we’re going to turn into stoke but will probably be more like West Brom and Norwich. Up and down over the years, which wouldn’t be such a bad thing. Obviously if we went up and competed, then great, just hard to see how. Brighton will be relegated within the next three years, they have a moment in the sun, just as we did, but it’s going to rain for them sooner rather than later. I’ve said it before, look at Burnley, smashed the Championship and can’t compete in the PL. Yo Yo for me all day long.
  9. I think I read or heard somewhere that the club were not giving refunds to those that cannot make the rearranged date, which I find hard to believe. Anyone know if there is any truth in that?
  10. doesnt help at all
  11. Maybe it was full of these?
  12. Don’t know if I might have missed it but first home game since his passing. surely we will be observing a minutes silence or applause (prefer silence myself) before the game. Silence before and applause in the 5th (was he a 5?) minute. Will be pretty crass if the club has not taken his passing into account.
  13. if you have solar panels then its a no brainer, especially if you can stretch to a Powerwall battery as well. I have an electric car and it's a pleasure to drive. As well as the fuel savings, granted not as significant as they used to be (though with your panels etc. happy days), people forget the really low maintenance. I think most have regenerative braking, it's amazing. My car has done 62K, they are only 50% worn on the pads and 65% on the discs. They are a b it rusty however, through lack of use. No oil changes, a couple of cabin filters and that's about it. Th range is fine is you work with it, just know your limits and plan long journeys
  14. or close Britannia Road and then let us over the bridge to meet up by The Queen Vic, that really worked well eh @franniesTache
  15. as mentioned before, the fact he wanted to resign was key. Didn't we have the same with Ralph. I think once that happens, it is pretty much the end. It was i guess the beginning of the PL era, and football and demands and expectations were changing. I'd thank him for that 89/90 season, not sure there has been a better one for entertainment in my lifetime of watching.
  16. Id go to 120 mate but I can’t give you any more.
  17. No one has even approved this, not the council, not the OB or nothing. Don't really see the point, Northam Wall, do me a favour.
  18. have two for sale, make me an offer. You'll need to collect from Southampton or I can drop off locally.

  20. Should I stay or should I go now. Wasnt particularly vitriolic. But his time had come to an end really.
  21. I don't know why anyone on here would really care either way, at least he has something about him, fuck em, they deserved the win but they were a bunch of cunts, as well as their fans.
  22. yeah, this is true. His dog had died as well, losing to Forest was the final straw but like you say, they did not take the resignation. He was a lovely, genuine guy. I tried to get an interview for the fanzine with him, back before phones, twitter etc. so I must have sent in a letter. Don't think I had a phone at home and put my works number on it. A few days later the receptionist calls over, '.... I have a Chris Nicholl on the phone for you'. He didn't want to do the interview but we had a chat. How many PL managers would do that these days? I think I regret the Nicholl fanzine front cover more than the Branfoot one. That 89 season, just wow, should have finished third if we'd beaten the north London clubs right at the end. But some games there, obv Liverpool, the previous week QPR away, Spurs in the third round, Matty's hat trick at home to Norwich, going for the treble after coming back against Swindon, 6-3 Luton, under the east stand, proper players, proper fans, fuck me, it's so shit now sometimes. RIP Chris Nicholl
  23. He didn't see him
  24. Watching Burnley over the weekend, well, that's us basically. And that's what is going to happen if or when we go up. Just wondering what the point is? People who say they love the EPL (as a Saints fan) are basically there to watch the big clubs, aren't they? There is going to be nothing enjoyable about going up and thinking this kind of football is going to have any effect. I like Martin and if he's happy to stay for the next few years in the EFL, and gives us some entertaining football i.e. Swansea first half, some bat shot crazy football like the Huddersfield game and okay, we'll have some shit, like Saturday, well, all in all, I'd take that.
