Sweepstake on next player to issue heartfelt words on social media.....
Noodles34 replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
And the winner is Adam Armstrong -
Today, no emotion, no pressure, no ‘what if’, just thought I’d sit down and watch the platers today and the tactics they were obviously told to implement. Why is McCarthy in goal? Baz has a lot of haters of course, I’m not one of them but clearly he was thrown in at the deep end. I think he’ll do alright in the CL, and if the club are keeping him, then he should be back playing, when there’s nothing to lose. Janny was alright and would be good down a league for sure, but he’ll get taken by another lower PL team and he’ll go. Lyanco will do a decent job for us and stay. KWP was probably out best player aside from Lavia, but he’ll get a West Ham or Villa. AMN - don’t really need to say anything on that. JWP, just the backward passes, he looks up and then looks back or sideways. I think he is a decent player, not top 6 or 7 but will be a better and more productive player with better players around him but I think he might just bottle it and stay for a season. Because that is what he lacks, bottle to try and play that pass, it’s his nature. Lavia is absolute class and yeah, he’s off, which is a shame cause he could learn so much, like Morgan did and come back even better but it’s the PL, he won’t want to miss it. Stu has always been a good forceful midfielder and he tried today but there’s something missing about his game now, been a while and. Think he will head back north. Walcott, he tries but his best days are well gone. But he would probably be alright down a league and his experience with other players would be very beneficial so I hope he stays, but he’s going to have to take a big payslip drop and we’ll see what really matters. That said, not sure who would actually take him. Tall Paul, feel for him, but if we play the way we do next season ten what’s the point of him.? He scored loads in the Belgian league, so there is a player and goal scorer there for sure and it could emerge down a league but a few crosses into the box might help. Chary, if he stays, will be one of the best players in the league next season, I hope he means what he says because he could be the difference. Djnepo, maybe in the championship, a bit like Tella, maybe. Mo, oh god, the worst player i have ever seen ( in respect of the amount of games he plays) in our colours. I am not even sure what he would bring to a conference league team. Hopefully Spurs buy him Mara? Don’t know, really don’t. Armstrong, scored in this league plenty, might do it again. If anyone else came on, sorry, but I’d gone by then. Che will get another PL team and Bella Mr Glass will go and hopefully Salisu will fuck off too, Adam Blackmore pulling no punches on that one. But one thing I saw today was how shit we are and it’s not just the players, it’s the way we play and that comes from Rueben Selles, clueless and like JWP, a bottler. Quite happy to see Steven Gerrard next season to be honest. A player that can attract players, has respect and knows how to win.

I see our number one (or Number 10) fan was there today, fuck me, one sinking ship to another, shame the Titanic wasn’t in dock today.
-
They’ve had six months to work on that statement and this is what we get
-
And here is everyone saying how shit our board are 🤦♂️
-
Bled us dry? Yeah right. He write the contract yeah?
-
Would you say this was a ‘must win’ game?
-
He standing there having a go at the players, clapping his hands enthusiastically. Fuck sake. Just go and sit down or get a taxi. Either way, go fuck yourself.
-
Surely Selles need to go now. He hasn’t got a fucking clue.
-
The most unlikeable Saints team ever.
-
Rumours of a half time bust up with Sallee.
-
And we have ?
-
That’s how far we have fallen. Talking about a ‘shock win at Brighton’.

Bit of bother after the Spurs game down Oxford Street. The video looks like handbags to be honest, a lot of posturing and 'stand your ground' (before running off). Didn't look proper nawty to be honest but the OB have nicked a fair few. So, how did it start? Who won? And did VAR get used?
-
what s that got to do with football?
-
Had to laugh when there was a big cheer for 7 minutes added time. Like we’d looked like scoring in 90 and people getting excited about another 7 FFS
-
Plus most of our other players would fit right in, much more their level.
-
and we still got Tella to come back for that league too.
-
Have you watched much football in your time fella?
-
so, basically, that is all of them then. see below. How often do referees ignore VAR's advice? It has become extremely rare for referees to go to the pitchside monitor and stick with their original decision after being advised to take another look by VAR. So much so the home crowd at Old Trafford could be heard cheering when referee Paul Tierney went to the monitor to look again at Gabriel Martinelli's goal for Arsenal against Manchester United, confident he was about to disallow it for a foul in the build-up, which he did. However, referee Michael Oliver stuck with his handball call against Bournemouth in their match with Nottingham Forest on Saturday and, in a more high-profile example, in the Merseyside derby in February 2021, Everton clinched a 2-0 victory at Anfield thanks to a late penalty which was awarded by referee Chris Kavanagh, who opted to stick with his original decision after checking the pitchside monitor on VAR's advice.
-
every time the ref goes to the monitor, you know it's coming, so you wonder, what's the point? The pricks in Stockley Park have already told him the decision.

this all day long.

very underrated song writer, some truly amazing lyrics. And he was/is a showman. I go to gigs to be entertained and see something you don't get by playing a record, sorry cd, oh sorry, a stream. As good as Oasis were it seemed to me that Liam just stood there, a little swagger was as much as he gave and like, 'yeah, this one's called Some Might Say and this one's called Champagne Supernova and this one's called.... you know. But JC had the audience in his hand and my biggest miss was Glasto 95 FFS. Still regret it now, what a show.

Yeah they played V96, I was at that, an amazing gig, think Fluke were on as well. Jarvis was disguised in an ape suit (during the day, not on stage) if i can recall (though i was very mashed up). They played an amazing version of Live Bed Show, not one of my favourites up to that point but they nailed the extra length version. But went the following year to V97 and had access to the VIP, backstage area and though they were not playing, Steve was there, so was Mark Webber and then Jarvis turned up. I was wearing my simple black Pulp T short, said 'hello, always wanted to meet you...' some other star struck waffle and he said, 'love your t shirt' , which i thought was funny. But yeah, chatted with Steve for a little while actually, what a sound fella. Last saw him when I went to see Jarvis (solo) at The Troxy and he was doing the bass. Was surprised he wasnt involved this year, the long awaited and very much overdue comeback but sadly we now know why i guess.

Steve was bass player in Pulp, passed at 56. So many memories of his gigs and above all meeting him at V97 at Chelmsford. Took the time to chat to me on all things Pulp. Really great guy and will be so very much missed.
