its not a case of writing him off after a few games, its about calling it as it is now. By your method how many games does he have to play to warrant an opinion?

I was very worried we would get dicked tonight with our two best players out. So we lost, but I think we can go forward on the back of that with a lot of confidence and pick up at least seven points before Chelsea. If that happens then we will still be in touch come January, the key is coming back from these defeats against teams we know we would have beaten three weeks ago. These next three games will define our season.

Shocking. How he stays on and Long goes off is beyond me.

finishing top four on this list would not give me anything to shout about, a cup run would, so its an obvious answer. I mean if ANYONE tells me they would rather finish top four in this list than a cup run then i really would think football (the game) was dead and buried. Que, the Leeds/Skates scenario questions..... would you rather be fourth on the list than winning the CL and nearly going bust again. well to save time, we cant go bust under Kat, its pretty much impossible unless she wanted it to happen purposely and even then that would be a difficult thing to do, so that question would be irrelevant. I'd rather win something, been to Wembley and see us lose the ZDS, been to Cardiff and lose, seen us finish eighth in the PL and never seen us win a title. The JPT is what we have done, which was great and no matter how high on the rich or solvent or great business list we are, it wont compare to winning at Wembley. So its great being solvent and doing well, but wake me up when we win something on a football pitch.
-
I cant wait to tell my grandkids about the days when we were so solvent, and moving up the business league table. I will talk about great names like Ralph Krueger and Gareth Rogers and Les Reed. And when they ask if they were playing in Cardiff in 2003 or set up Matt Le Tissier for his legendary goals, I'll scoff and say, "no, they werent on the pitch, they were running the club successfully, unfortunately kids, we didnt win **** all on the pitch".

Think you mean Cortese

so you're not a proper football fan then?

Thats pretty sad when a fan's ambition for a player at his club is for the player to be sold for a decent price at a later date.

CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons

Any better yesterday? Not so sure myself. don't know if his team mates know what he is going to do next, not sure he does either. Early days, but he reminds me of Papa and maybe we should be starting with Long and having Mane as the impact sub. -
I watched Southampton last week and I was disappointed. Everybody is telling me how great they are. I hadn’t seen them play before and I watched the Villa game and they didn’t look like a second-placed team to me. I said on Soccer Saturday they will finish seventh or eighth and I’m not going to change my mind from Monday’s performance. I didn’t think their attitude was great and I think they thought they just had to turn up and that wasn’t the case. I think they’ll be better against City, but how do you stop Aguero? I don’t see how you can stop him; he’s up there with the best in world. City are a great team to watch at the moment because if it goes to form, and Chelsea beat Sunderland, they have to win - draws are no good. We know they’re going to finish in the top four but they’ve got to go out every week and try to win. PAUL PREDICTS: 3-1 Not really surprising is it. Everyone telling him how great we are but Paul, that was just code for "you're a ****ing cock"

It's not about what you say and what you mean, it's about how stupid you can be. Whether you you think he's right or wrong, these people in the public eye need to understand the consequences of social media and red top interpretations.

I am confused by this as last season we were being praised for saving the England football team. Everyone seemed proud of the fact that we fielded so many English players, are we now proud of just having two or three?
-
that is exactly it mate, where will it stop? This advert s based on a true event, songs by The Farm (that was a good video, as well as song) and Paul Mc (****) have been done and those songs didn't mention Sainsburys! Did the all go to Sainsburys after the match? This advert must have cost millions but they pay their staff from the minimum wage, tsk....

you really think that will work season after season?
-
wrong about what, i may have done two posts in the summer about it expressing concern, im hardly the next Alpine
-
There is nothing to say that we couldn't do it again, but then look at Liverpool after losing two players (one permanently, one temporarily). Do you REALLY think that losing a manager and five top players every season would see us finish in the top half of the league season after season. My overall point is that I dont think the board handled the summer exodus very well, but (luckily?) its worked out well. Is that what our plan is for the future? Unsustainable perhaps, bit like the Rupert Lowe days except we can afford to replace our good players this time. as for the OP, the club as a whole, its past and present is definitely more united than ever and its a nice feeling. But I felt under NC we were going places and there was a clear vision for success, but its Kat's money now and ultimately her call and regardless of currently being second, I was actually more optimistic about the future this time last season.

maybe, I missed the word "if", sorry if my post confused you

Jesus, this is no t an obituary thread is it? if trolling is saying that we would not have gone bust, then I am guilty as charged. if trolling is having a difference of opinion to most other posters, then guilty again, sorry, clearly I am missing the point of a forum. And there's been no disrespect to ML in any of my posts, I am as thankful as the next guy, it's just that technically he didn't save us, we would have survived, pedantic maybe, but true.
-
No, definitely not, but the one thing that worries me, they think that next summer they will get away with losing RK, Tadic, Pelle, MS and J Rod and still get to second place. That would be amateurish
-
sitting in Itchen North, not sure i understand. What did Ralph wreck? well, you cant blame him for the manager, thats for sure. Quite clear that MP was off after NC went, though you could argue that he made himself look a bit limp wristed with all the 'begging to stay' when we all knew that wasn't going to happen. But he did wreck the team, a bloody good one. We sold off players for good money and they wanted to go and now we are doing even better. Brilliant, i am happy, unconvinced initially but have to say that the team is better than last season in many ways. But please dont tell me that Ralph and the board were not a complete bunch of amateurs over the summer and made us look like some kind of tin pot clueless regime. At least they shut the door at MS and yes, got in RK, they have done some good things, but "we're not selling any of our players" to selling five of the best, come on! And Chambers FFS, that one still ranks as a shambles. But we're all happy now and as long as we continue as we are, everyone will be happy, me included. If it does go a bit a Pete Tong, this place will be interesting.
