  1. Size isn't everything .. or so I'm told

    Bookies

I think it is normally 6 months in their rules however they will often payout longer than that, just not guaranteed to do so.
  3. I agree, some can live more and fit more into 40 years than others do in 90 years. Floyd was one on those. RIP
  4. I also share this illogical feeling that we are going to get a result today, even had a bet, 5/1 Saints to win with bet365.
  5. Backed it each way the last couple of times it ran and did ok. Only 7 runners today so on the nose. Having a lousy York meeting, cant back a winner, hope this one changes my luck.
  6. No, they are not bound to carry enough cash to cover every eventuality. That would be a real security risk. They carry enough cash to pay out uncollected bets plus a reasonable float to cover a loss but not a huge loss. They of course will offer other options if they run out of cash on the night such as payment by cheque, pick up your winnings at any Ladbrokes shop or simply pick up at the next game.
  7. Ladbrokes and Corals suspended their relegation markets today on the basis the club may go in admin. Relegation is now as short as 13/8 with Paddy Power. Even that may be value if they get points deducted.
  8. .. that could well be the reason for the confusion!! .. though we can say for sure that he wasn't a keeper!!
  9. I was working in South London at the time and I recall Alan Pardew as a key member of the Palace team (along with Ian Wright, Mark Bright, Andy Thorne, Nigel Martin, Geoff Thomas etc) that went all the way to FA Cup final around 89/90/91 ish. I recall he was a midfielder .. definately not a striker ..
  10. I thought he did ok in the holding midfield role. However it was his poor pass that lead to the Millwall attack and their penalty and subsequently their equaliser.
  11. Maybe they should have got two penalties?
  12. Dirty Leeds I'm afraid. They are also the clear favourites with the bookies.
  13. This fella Lowe was quite an impressive talent spotter. Perhaps we should bring him back ..
  14. I used to drive up the M3/A316 regularly. Always parked near Kew Grdns tube - no problem leaving the car there all day and free parking. Was about six years ago though.
  15. Just to get you in the festive mood (only a 143 shopping days left) ... Lonely this Christmas ... Mud

    Skates

I wish .. the latest relegation odds vary from a high of 100/30 (4.33) to some going as low as 15/8 (2.88) .. contracting all the time
  17. A number of caveats and admissions in the above; far from convincing. The "blue few" must be more than worried by now ...
  18. We will murder them ... 1-1
  19. I knew a scouse guy who used ask for his pie to be fried at the chippy. Is this a scouse trait?
  20. A real gentleman and a great ambassador for the sport. Will be sadly missed. RIP
  21. I seem to recall that when a certain M Channon started for us he was known as Mike and not Mick?
  22. Anyone else get on? Ran a good race to finish third.
  23. I'm sure he will do well for us if he is fit and if he stays. The second "if" is the big question - I can't see him staying (same goes for Saga who has already stated that he wants off). For the record I thought he looked ok against Ajax, won plenty in the air but really didn't get a great deal of service in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch.
  24. It's ok. Better place to have a beer and better beer than on the concourse. Depends whether you think that's worth 25 quid over a season ..
  25. A Saints related tip ... ARCHERS ROAD trained by Mick Channon in the 3.25 at Newbury today. 20/1 with Paddy Power who are paying an extra place (4 places 1/4 odds). Worth a small each way wager I feel.
