I know we can easily dismiss this as sour grapes but it sits a bit uneasy with me ...

A lot of excited people at the moment but we shouldn't get too carried away. It is great news and a huge relief that finally we can look forward to some stability however we should be realistic in our expectations next season. The bookies, who are a pretty good guide, have us around 6 or 7 to one for promotion and 5 to one for relegation. Basically neither outcome is likely and a mid table finish is where we are most likely to end up.

I thought Kronenbourg was a French beer? Also is this guy German or Swiss? I understood that the Liebherr Group was based in Switzerland but the family were Germans?

Yes ..worthless No reason why it couldn't carry on Don't know

Losers:- Those small shareholders, like myself, who invested a few quid in shares, transferred voting rights to the Saints Trust to try and oust Lowe and have ended up doing our dough. That said I am extremely pleased with where we now are and I am looking forward to the new season.

"In 1998, a 54-year-old cut off his penis with a kitchen knife at his home in the Scarborough area. He told police he had decided to take such drastic action because his penis was affected by a "very painful" medical condition." Wow .. that must have been hell of a dose ...

Many over the years. My first game as a kid under floodlights at the dell against a mighty Liverpool side sticks in my memory. Must have been around 1966 and I remember we scored early on and were under constant pressure for the rest of the game .. nail biting stuff and so exciting. Later on the League cup semi final leg at the dell when Terry Curran scored and I had a great view of the goal in the Milton. Also the Euro matches were special Marseille, Anderlecht, etc. The floodlit matches always seemed more special??

Apparantly so, mentioned he was there before the match though the cameras just seem to focus on Judy, his mother. I am guessing they are separated? and the mother has been more involved in the tennis side?

The in play odds at the break Essex 3.75 (or 11/4) and Hants 1.36 (or 4/11). So still fancied to go through. Early scare there though ...!!
-
Started well Essex 42-3 - we are 1.40 in play (or 2/5 in old odds to win) and Middlesex are 2.40 (or 11/8) to win against Sussex therefore we are about 3.4 (or just under 5/2) to qualify. So in with a shout but need a favour from Middlesex

Basically, we're all f**ked now and will be even more f**ked in the future.

Remember going to the Goldstone Ground over the Xmas hols one year. Great turn out. We won and I think Steve Moran may have got the winner (but all a bit hazy so not sure about the last bit)

I read in the Evening Standard last night that the Common Skate is an endangered species and needs protection. In my view there's too many of the f*ck*rs about and I say let them die.
-
I also went and thought they played very well. Actually had a bet this morning on the back on what I saw, Hants at 14/1 to win the tournament. This is the betting forum, isn't it ..?

Great post and sounds such a familar journey. I too starting out with with my Dad in the 64.65 season under the west stand (he had a wooden box that I used to stand on). Then gradually watched more and more on my own, firstly in the Archers Road before graduating to the Milton in the early seventies. Still a season ticket holder but now one of the old f*rts in the Kingsland! Let's hope that family spirit can now return and this may be a turning point for the genuine fans to battle against the odds and reestablish ourselves where we truly belong. I'm actually looking forward to next season.

I fancy Pipedreamer to win the big race at Sandown tonight (7.45). With a good run already under his belt looks a good thing at 9/4.
-
A touch of realism by the bookies. We are currently quoted at 8/1 to be promoted next season!

... as quoted by Andrey Arshavin. Does he have a point? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1182924/Women-drivers-need-roads-says-football-star.html

League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
KK the 2nd replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
So as I understand it we are down under either scenario. However if we finish out of the bottom three before the 10 point deduction then the 10 point deduction takes us down but we start with a level playing field in League One. If we were in the bottom three anyway at the end of the season then we start League One with minus 10. So the next two matches actually are important (both 5 pointers in a way!). -
Yes he did! It was a long time ago but I remember it was when he was at Leicester. It was a wet and windy afternoon at the Dell and we lost 5-1 I think. It was a drop kick from his own penalty area that bounced over our keepers head (McClaren or Forsyth - I can't remember) and into the net. Also not sure but I think it might have been their 5th goal and just about capped a miserable day.
