I used to have an old Sony Trinitron telly which I became quite attached to. I had to take it to the repair shop once because "someone" put a magnet on the screen and it went all weird and needed realigning or something. Anyway the repair man who took it out of my car said it was the heaviest telly he'd ever lifted. He'd worked there for twelve years. A rare moment of pride that.

A friend of mine once the cat got in (a ginger tom), closed the cat flap so it couldn't escape and chased it round the house with a baseball bat. I can't remember whether it did the trick, but it sounds great fun and is probably good excercise.

Knee jerk reactions to tragic circumstances don't often result in sensible rules and regulations. I'm not sure everybody wearing a helmet is necessarily the way forward, but I don't know the statistics. I'd be interested to know whether fatal head injuries are more likely from skiing than many other sports or even as a pedestrian crossing the road. Of course skiing sensibly and within your limits reduces any risk even further. Personally I like to feel the wind in my hair when I ski without feeling the need for OTT protective equipment, but you do what you want.
