Good luck SHane. Lot of money, but it is now a days to get a striker from the prem. If he gets 12+ will be worth it. Still a good age. ANd has potential re-sale. In the right team he should do well. Not the next level signing I was hoping for, but a solid signing.

I agree, end of the day the club pays players week on week for hard work and effort and performace. But the good send off are reserved for those who treat the club and fans with respect.

Leeds have a top bloke and a bargin, will get 15 goals plus for them if he settles. In the last few months we have had a lot of strops, but Billy kept working hard, trained and did not come out with nonsense when others boo hooed like t£"%"^""%$.

Agree, sure its a lot but a good way of judging a striker is with goals per mil. If he costs 12 mil and gets 12 goals that's not a bad return. Also everyone is shocked at the money, but really what prem to prem transfer is a bargin now a days. This is about standard. Fletcher was 15mil, McGoldrick 11mil, etc.

Oh, and its not a line, it was his choice to sign it. Paid thousands to be a pro football. tough.

Agreed, If it were a choice of Forster and Rojo or Cheap Keeper, Rojo and Gardos I would take the three players.

As nice as any new signing is, last season when we signed Vic, Lovren and Osvaldo and when they were unvailed in the all red kit, for me, they just did not look like saints signings. With Taider and the rest in the stripes they look like Saints signings.

I dont think he can win. Yes, he answers a bit like a politician and waffles around the question, but to be fair most chairmen do. He could however end all this speculation by being honest surely? Fans might be annoyed but anything can be understood or forgiven if they are honest with the fans, whether its financial or bad-egg players or too good offers to refuse etc.

Agree, we have had it so easy over the last few years. Too easy. Sure everyone is entitled to their opinions (for example I dont like Hernandez, over-rated), but he ahave been linked with Inter players like Schelotto, and people dont want him here? I remember when we signed Mark Draper I almost wet myself at how big a signing that was at the time.

I really do not rate Hernandez, nothing to do with Saints size of as a club, just never rated him. Misses a lot of chances, the media (for what ever reason) big him up when he scores but does little else. I have to watch a lot of man u due to a few mates supporting them and if I were Van Gal I would be trying to ship him out for over 10 mil too.

Just a long summary really. We knew most of that already. Things that stand out are: The club not talking to Shaw and Adam (but does not mention where this info came from), says that not once did the club talk to the players, but they were at the WC, we all remember it well. I think the club wanted the money for those two, it was just about getting as much as poss. Why hold talks when you can make a sale? Adam being the leader of the group? Hmmm, not too sure about that?
