In this case it is expedient to combine both in one thread.

Agreed, we went quantity over quality.

I think he was / is better than his barren spell would indicate, that whole team went off the boil. He scored a goal that kept us up, scored two in a Wembley final and had one disallowed when he was not actually offside. Looking at his stats at Sampdoria he has scored 25 goals in 91 appearances, he also plays for Italy. I think someone like him would be a big upgrade on AA

You have to wonder where all the Pelle's, Tadic's, Mane's ., Gabbiadini's are lurking, they must be there somewhere out there, just under the radar. I think one problem we have with Ralph as that he in himself cannot attract players to play for him in the way someone like the "footballing deity" , that was Koeman, for example, could. I, like someone else said yesterday, thought we would be picking up gems from the German and Austrian leagues with Ralph's connections, but that just didn't happen. (let's not talk about Danso)

I think the midfield is right down there too.

I’m sure we can find someone equally as shambolic as Ralph if maintaining that “style” is the key requirement? 😉

A new manager could make us harder to beat though, that wide open 4 2 2 2 nonsense has to go for a start. I can live with grinding out a few bore draws until we can address the situation. You might also find those strikers could be more effective in a better set up team.

Rate Saints business in the Summer 2022 Transfer Window

You are not alone, I think I was an 8. -
Prohibitive cost to get rid They believed his bullshit Semmens & Co are spineless They wanted to see how he went with the new coaches, but Ralph has now shut them out May have thought we would be good enough to stay up this season and build on that, now realising we are in serious danger of relegation A few things that sprung to mind without too much effort

It may work the opposite way, I have seen this happen in other team sports I have followed, where unmotivated players get right up for the big games, this may explain why we have done better against the better sides generally.
-
We didn’t want him, didn’t fit our system and Ralph said he was untrainable, we dodged a bullet there.

Not quite true, there are superstar managers who wouldn’t even consider the role plus Sam Allardyce, that’s what I’ve learned on this forum

We will need to add one or two old “war dogs” as well

The two centre backs are big, the other two are not by current midfield standards, I was surprised how unimposing AMN looked in the flesh. I don’t know what anyone expects from his corners, as for going straight to a defender, what is he to do, if we are static and have no attacking aerial threat, The defender is always going to be first to the ball. The reality is, is that his corners are wasted on our donkeys. So if anyone said we should start taking short corners or something else other than getting into the supposed danger area, I think that would be a different argument with some merit to it.

Who from Sport Republic would pull the plug on R.H?
Toussaint replied to Andrew Watson's topic in The Saints
Probably, but there is normally someone of greater influence, that would be Dragan in this case, it’s his money at risk. -
Was he not at Mityland when the gave us a hard time in the Europa league?
-
To be fair to him, I was at the game and I thought his corners were excellent, but we have no one to attack them, we continue to sign small players and always seem outnumbered in the box. Che can win a header in a battle, but he can’t beat a cb to a header and direct the ball, he’s just not tall enough. I find it hard to single out JWP for criticism when we have the weakest midfield, without Romeu, in the premier league.

I don’t think it is, at least the first 11 isn’t. All we needed to add to last season’s starting 11 was a decent attacking midfielder. Now we have lost Oriel and Broja and we still have not addressed the attacking midfielder issue, hence we are trying to convert AA to that role. The jury is out on Aribo for me, he looks like a good championship player, but it’s early days and the midfield is completely dysfunctional in Ralph’s 2 2, so it’s hard to judge.,The only stand out for me so far is Bella Kotchap. I agree with everything else you say.

Ralph wouldn’t have him full stop, Ralph doesn’t really do personalities or string characters, he needs robots to program with automisms.

Can you give me the url of that website ? I need it to … err … complain and things

I feel like I am watching the relegation team, minus the talent

Keep that rage and use it as fuel for a greater rage.
