  1. Would quite like to see the below... ---------------McCarthy----------------- Pied --- Bednarek --- Yoshida --- Bertrand ----------Romeu-----Hojbjerg----------- JWP-----------Redmond------------Tadic -----------------Austin-------------------
  2. Can’t agree with that. IMO Wes is considerably the best of the 4... Hoedt > Yoshida > Bednarek > Stephens IMO
  3. Shout out to this lad the last two games. I saw him at Fulham and thought he was dreadful, but he's been pretty decent since coming into the side. Twice the player Stephens is would be surprised if Stephens comes straight back in
  4. We're not good enough at the back to play 2 up top, and we need some players to give the two strikers the ball if we were to do it. When we've gone two up top we've been absolutely terrible and cant get the ball so makes no sense to do it. Only way it's plausible is to go 3-5-2/5-3-2, however the last few weeks we've been playing pretty much a 3-4-2-1. The issue isn't not having enough strikers on the pitch, it's more about getting the players forward more, but I can't help but feel that the players aren't fit enough. The amount of times Long has got the ball in the last few games and the only one within 25 yards of him is Tadic. The midfield isn't mobile enough, and the "wing backs" have pretty much played as full backs. It's been lagely the same all season, and we just dont get enough players forward, but probably because our defenders cant be trusted to not f*ck up and give a goal away.
  5. Not convinced if you put our current XI in the championship they'd get promoted to be honest. We need some investment in key areas and would be nice for some commitment from a few of the players who have taken us down...(McCarthy, Yoshida, JWP, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Long, Austin) ----------------------McCarthy NEW ------- Yoshida -- Bednarek/NEW ---------Targett ----------------------Romeu------------------------------ -------------JWP---------------Hojbjerg------------------ NEW--------------Austin/Long-----------------Sims/NEW Probably need a new #10 too who will actually create so we can go 2 in the middle and one in the hole.
  6. Was certainly an odd choice taking JWP off, looked like the only one out there who was going to create anything especially with Austin about to come on. Should have just taken one of the CB's off and gone with 4 at the back and stuck Davis in midf or kept it the same and stuck Austin on to partner Long. Certainly some strange subs last night in another "must win game". I didn't have a problem with the appointment of Hughes at the time, and I don't now. However next season we need a real shake up. Not sure whether he is the man to take us forward but I wouldn't be hugely passionate either way. Would love to hear from Reed at the end of the season to discuss the failings and whats actually happened, and to hold his hands up and take the responsibility for the mess we have found ourselves in.
  7. Bought some yesterday, had to call the ticket office but picking them up from King Power,
  8. Cheers John, might see you there...!
  9. Anyone got any recommendations as to where to park?
  10. Gaston was pretty good at times, probably the best we've had in that position apart from Lallana.
  11. Yeah - doesn't seem to be particularly bothered, and hasn't been all season, which is a shame because he was quality when he first started to play. Seems to be a bit of an ego by the look of his Instagram posts... Or maybe he has just been very unlucky with injuries this season....
  12. Lemina - Back problem Boufal - ill Davis back in the fold for tomorrow, despite not a lot of training.
  13. So we do still have some ITK's! Thought their info had all dried up now. Will be interesting to see which players we try and keep in the summer who are more than capable of playing in the Prem and we want to keep. (JWP, Pierre, Romeu, Austin) Cant think of many of the others who we'd be bothered about losing.
  14. Not sure we'll get any better than McCarthy next season. We must have other priorities in the squad, especially given we'll be getting rid of quite a few others.
  15. If (when) we go down, Bertrand will go, so starting next season with Targett at LB would be preferable, however if Fulham go up and they want to keep him, then I hope we get good money for him and then McQueen can come in at LB. Personally don't think there is much between McQueen and Targett, apart from Targett is naturally a better defender.
  16. Draw at Leicester, beat Bournemouth, beat Swansea and a point vs either Everton or City.... Even that leaves us on 36 and possibly still not enough points...
  17. I think he's ok, does the basics better than Fraser but doesn't do anything outstanding like Fraser. He's better coming out, commanding his area, catching the ball, Fraser is probably a better shot stopper although that's questionable given some of the goals he's let in this season
  18. Wouldn't bother me if we brought him in as backup to McCarthy - especially given that Fraser is one of our top earners.
  19. Wouldn't be against us looking at Sam Byram from West Ham, he probably needs a move away from there.
  20. Says who ?
  21. Yes - some up to £50 for away tickets...
  22. Think Romeu / Hojbjerg / JWP might give us a season, however suitors will probably be in for JWP. (Possibly a move he can't refuse given the fact he's English?) The rest of them no big loss. Would like to think a few of the youngsters that aren't quite good enough for the prem yet, can step in and are already good enough for that league (Sims, Reed, Gallagher, Targett, Hesketh) Would be nice to get a dominant CB to come in though, along with a talisman striker and a winger with some pace (how long have we been saying we need these for - feels like every single window for the last 3 years!)
  23. Agree that we'd certainly want a stronger squad, I did that on the basis that we'd have new signings on top of that list above. The Championship has some bloody good teams in though, and clubs that can spend £20m on one player. We need to recruit well, this summer, and I'm not sure that thats going to happen with the current recruitment team...!
  24. Although it looks incredibly bleak, if Swansea lose the next two, and we get 4 points (yes I know - unlikely!) but, it would put it back in our hands with us having to go to Swansea still. There is still hope....just...
  25. Even the ticket office have given up.
