Think thats harsh on Tadic, my issue with him is more about him being **** than not putting in the effort, he clearly wants to win.
-
Because he seemed to get a result when he was just about to be sacked probably! Plus the cup run. He should have gone after that Leicester game, I think if we hadn't beaten Everton he'd have been gone then.
-
Cedric isn't good enough to play in that position, I'd prefer Pied there.
-
True, though he has had Arsenal away, Chelsea home and Leicester away - not games I'd have expected to win under Poch or Koeman tbf. West Ham however, I think he just f*cked up massively by going two up front.
-
Well you can see the below aren't interested by just watching them mope about the pitch... Bertrand Cedric Lemina Gabbiadini Carrillo
-

Yep - Tadic has to start for me too. Thought is was harsh on him and JWP not starting on Sunday.
-
Although true, I'm pretty sure it works both ways and given we've sold more than we've spent we're probably owed more than we owe.
-
Maybe I need to put Long in their too, but he scored at Anfield and what a moment that was...!
-
Yep - definitely worse signing that Gaston, Gaston was actually pretty good in that first season under Adkins / Pochettino. Boufal has huge talent but doesn't want to be there and has bugger all end product. Another huge waste of money alongside these...including Boufal thats about £145m largely wasted. Carrillo (£19m) Hoedt (£15m) Lemina (£18m) Gabbiadini (£15m) Clasie (£8m) Juanmi (£6m) Austin (£5m) Martina (£2m) Gardos (£6m) Forren (£4m) Osvaldo (£15m) Mayuka (£4m) Ramirez (£12m)

The annual "Would you take Adkins back" thread?
Saint Garrett replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Definitely I'd take him back. One issue being the ego's in our squad though wouldn't probably want to play for him. -
Would quite like to see the below... ---------------McCarthy----------------- Pied --- Bednarek --- Yoshida --- Bertrand ----------Romeu-----Hojbjerg----------- JWP-----------Redmond------------Tadic -----------------Austin-------------------
-
Can’t agree with that. IMO Wes is considerably the best of the 4... Hoedt > Yoshida > Bednarek > Stephens IMO
-
Shout out to this lad the last two games. I saw him at Fulham and thought he was dreadful, but he's been pretty decent since coming into the side. Twice the player Stephens is would be surprised if Stephens comes straight back in

We're not good enough at the back to play 2 up top, and we need some players to give the two strikers the ball if we were to do it. When we've gone two up top we've been absolutely terrible and cant get the ball so makes no sense to do it. Only way it's plausible is to go 3-5-2/5-3-2, however the last few weeks we've been playing pretty much a 3-4-2-1. The issue isn't not having enough strikers on the pitch, it's more about getting the players forward more, but I can't help but feel that the players aren't fit enough. The amount of times Long has got the ball in the last few games and the only one within 25 yards of him is Tadic. The midfield isn't mobile enough, and the "wing backs" have pretty much played as full backs. It's been lagely the same all season, and we just dont get enough players forward, but probably because our defenders cant be trusted to not f*ck up and give a goal away.

Looking at the squad we could be left with...
Saint Garrett replied to Dazza82's topic in The Saints
Not convinced if you put our current XI in the championship they'd get promoted to be honest. We need some investment in key areas and would be nice for some commitment from a few of the players who have taken us down...(McCarthy, Yoshida, JWP, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Long, Austin) ----------------------McCarthy NEW ------- Yoshida -- Bednarek/NEW ---------Targett ----------------------Romeu------------------------------ -------------JWP---------------Hojbjerg------------------ NEW--------------Austin/Long-----------------Sims/NEW Probably need a new #10 too who will actually create so we can go 2 in the middle and one in the hole. -
Was certainly an odd choice taking JWP off, looked like the only one out there who was going to create anything especially with Austin about to come on. Should have just taken one of the CB's off and gone with 4 at the back and stuck Davis in midf or kept it the same and stuck Austin on to partner Long. Certainly some strange subs last night in another "must win game". I didn't have a problem with the appointment of Hughes at the time, and I don't now. However next season we need a real shake up. Not sure whether he is the man to take us forward but I wouldn't be hugely passionate either way. Would love to hear from Reed at the end of the season to discuss the failings and whats actually happened, and to hold his hands up and take the responsibility for the mess we have found ourselves in.

Bought some yesterday, had to call the ticket office but picking them up from King Power,
-
Cheers John, might see you there...!

Anyone got any recommendations as to where to park?
-
Gaston was pretty good at times, probably the best we've had in that position apart from Lallana.
-
Yeah - doesn't seem to be particularly bothered, and hasn't been all season, which is a shame because he was quality when he first started to play. Seems to be a bit of an ego by the look of his Instagram posts... Or maybe he has just been very unlucky with injuries this season....
-
Lemina - Back problem Boufal - ill Davis back in the fold for tomorrow, despite not a lot of training.
-
So we do still have some ITK's! Thought their info had all dried up now. Will be interesting to see which players we try and keep in the summer who are more than capable of playing in the Prem and we want to keep. (JWP, Pierre, Romeu, Austin) Cant think of many of the others who we'd be bothered about losing.
