Weird interview, feel the title does him a bit of a disservice. Just says the players have aspirations to play in Europe. No problem with that. But about the here and now....we're in a mess, and we need some short term thinking to get out of it. Or we're going to find ourselves relegated before we acknowledge the fact we're even in the fight.

And this is the crux of it, but we actually really need to win this game, given the fixtures left. It's huge - and they've got the characteristics to really hurt us. We'll need Stephens not to hoof the ball every time he touches it, and we'll need to defend properly from set pieces. We'll also need to take our chances, but given that if we lose we're almost down, I can't see him setting up in an attacking way. Would love to see... Wanted to go up for the weekend, so anytime Sat or Sunday is doable, preferably Saturday lunchtime rather than Sunday lunchtime.

Think right now, we're at about 14th/15th level. Two major weaknesses in defending and scoring will mean we can't be regarded as a top half team IMO. We do have underperforming players right now, but it's a struggle. Buy: Dominant CB to play alongside Hoedt, madness we've been left with one of Yoshida/Stephens/Bednarek as first choice Proper CF - Carrillo looks ok, Austin ok, Long & Gabbi meh. Winger to play on the right. (with pace) You get to something like... ...................McCarthy.................... Cedric......NEW......Hoedt.....Bertrand ..........Hojbjerg......Lemina............ NEW..............Boufal...............Tadic .....................NEW....................... Leaves... Forster, Stephens, Bednarek, Yoshida, McQueen, Targett, Romeu, Davis, JWP, Reed Redmond Gabbiadini, Carrillo, Long, Austin Also think we probably need to bring in another player who can play instead of Tadic / Boufal. Get to that and there is no excuse to not being top half.

Hmm not overly convinced. We should be doing better than what we are, but we have 3 glaring holes....CB, AM & ST. None of the options we have in those positions are good enough at the moment. Maybe down to tactics, but the individuals playing there are also way weaker than previous years. VVD > Stephens Mane > Redmond/Boufal Pelle > Carrillo/Gabbi The difference is that we can't keep clean sheets, and we struggle to score goals.
