  1. Not sure we'll get any better than McCarthy next season. We must have other priorities in the squad, especially given we'll be getting rid of quite a few others.
  2. If (when) we go down, Bertrand will go, so starting next season with Targett at LB would be preferable, however if Fulham go up and they want to keep him, then I hope we get good money for him and then McQueen can come in at LB. Personally don't think there is much between McQueen and Targett, apart from Targett is naturally a better defender.
  3. Draw at Leicester, beat Bournemouth, beat Swansea and a point vs either Everton or City.... Even that leaves us on 36 and possibly still not enough points...
  4. I think he's ok, does the basics better than Fraser but doesn't do anything outstanding like Fraser. He's better coming out, commanding his area, catching the ball, Fraser is probably a better shot stopper although that's questionable given some of the goals he's let in this season
  5. Wouldn't bother me if we brought him in as backup to McCarthy - especially given that Fraser is one of our top earners.
  6. Wouldn't be against us looking at Sam Byram from West Ham, he probably needs a move away from there.
  7. Says who ?
  8. Yes - some up to £50 for away tickets...
  9. Think Romeu / Hojbjerg / JWP might give us a season, however suitors will probably be in for JWP. (Possibly a move he can't refuse given the fact he's English?) The rest of them no big loss. Would like to think a few of the youngsters that aren't quite good enough for the prem yet, can step in and are already good enough for that league (Sims, Reed, Gallagher, Targett, Hesketh) Would be nice to get a dominant CB to come in though, along with a talisman striker and a winger with some pace (how long have we been saying we need these for - feels like every single window for the last 3 years!)
  10. Agree that we'd certainly want a stronger squad, I did that on the basis that we'd have new signings on top of that list above. The Championship has some bloody good teams in though, and clubs that can spend £20m on one player. We need to recruit well, this summer, and I'm not sure that thats going to happen with the current recruitment team...!
  11. Although it looks incredibly bleak, if Swansea lose the next two, and we get 4 points (yes I know - unlikely!) but, it would put it back in our hands with us having to go to Swansea still. There is still hope....just...
  12. Even the ticket office have given up.
  13. To be fair, probably because Wigan have bugger all fans...!
  14. Difficult to say really because we were utter turd last year....
  15. Drums we're a shambles, absolutely zero point in them. Get rid asap.
  16. Would be nice to start next season with something like... ----------------McCarthy------------------- Valery---- Yoshida---- Hoedt---- Targett ------------Romeu-----Hojbjerg----------- JWP-------------Hesketh-------------Sims -------------Austin/Gallagher---------------- Obviously a few of those will inevitably go, and likely will need to bring in a few leaders, as we're seriously lacking in that department at the moment. Keep Maya Yoshida Jack Stephens Jan Bednarek Shane Long Steven Davis Charlie Austin Alex McCarthy Nathan Redmond Jérémy Pied Will Wood Alfie Jones Jake Flannigan Sam McQueen Josh Sims Jake Hesketh Yan Valery Michael Obafemi Matt Targett Want to keep but likely to go: Wesley Hoedt Oriol Romeu James Ward-Prowse Pierre-Emile Højbjerg
  17. Quite a few things: Being able to find a decent stream when I'm not able to get to the games. Seeing some top players at St Marys Seeing us play some brilliant football against said top players (admittedly not done that for 2 seasons) The £30 away ticket cap The profile of being in the premier league The quality of players in Saints shirts (again not really valid for last 2 seasons) The press coverage and being able to read about the club rather than the odd sentence in the bottom of the papers. Going to some brilliant grounds Having to play some horrible games against some real drossy clubs next year like the skates. The chance of fighting for Europe The chance to fight for cup finals
  18. -----------------McCarthy Cedric Bednarek Yoshida Hoedt Bertrand ------------Romeu-----Hojbjerg----------- JWP----------------------------------Tadic -------------------Long--------------------- Would also be tempted to stick JWP in beside Romeu & Hojbjerg and put Austin in for Tadic and go two up top. Does mean that Cedric and Bertrand need to really push on in the wide positions. I just think with Mahrez, Vardy, Okazaki they'll just have too much going forward for us to deal with, which leaves us needing to score a few to even get a draw. Let's face it, we're all but down, but the players must still believe they can do it.
  19. How many opportunities do you get to watch Saints at Wembley in the FA Cup in your lifetime?! Not many...!
  20. Seriously embarrassing if we cannot sell this game out. Shambles.
  21. We'll be lucky to get money back on Hoedt. Only thing would be that he is still young and has a good rep - won't get £30m for him though. Lemina has clearly shown he is class in bursts, but would maybe question his motivation this season when he's needed to step up...?
  22. Do we? I mean apart from the first month or two, he's been largely terrible, doesn't look particularly interested, and doesn't seem to fit into the team.
  23. TBF, it's pretty pathetic if we can't sell this game out...!
  24. If we go down, Bertrand won't be worth anywhere near £50m. Be lucky to get £25m for him if we are playing Championship football next seasons
  25. Would be tempted to use Long again and bring Austin on once Long has worn them down. ---------------McCarthy Cedric----Yoshida---Hoedt----Bertrand -----Hojbjerg--Romeu--Lemina-------- JWP--------------------------------Tadic ------------------Long-------------------
