Sure if it was a big signing then it would be being reported elsewhere ? -
Kyle Naughton - Tottenham Hotspur (link in The Mirror)

Based on him having a decent season but not amazing, he wasn't great defensively, but did have a great delivery. Naugton has a years experience in the Prem and was very good for Norwich last season. I would be absolutely delighted if we signed him. Also he was hugely rated at Sheff Utd and he's only 23. Huge potential. -

Wouldnt surprise me if it was Dann. Would be a decent signing, not amazing but an area which we need to strengthen, -
It's been easy to travel over the last few years though for younger people as the tickets were cheap. It will be interesting to see how many of these younger lads can afford it.

What about that french lad from Lens he mentioned Reading had nearly beaten us to him? Have we trumped their offer? -

Don't think I once dismissed them. Pog and Defoe are better now than our players hence me also saying I don't doubt they'll stay up. BUT IF we can stay up this season with a youthful team, then our way will look better. We've clearly got high hopes for the younger lads we've brought in, however, I wouldn't have said no to Defore or Pog -
TCM, We're not as big of a club as you seen to think we are!!! Also our location isn't going to help attendances. If Southampton was based in Birmingham or London, I'm sure we would take more, fact is it's not and we're not a massive club.
-
What and yuou bought them on the day of release for every game ? Never just thought, "oh I fancy going this weekend, wasnt going to but not got anything else to do"
-
Our attendances really werent that bad at all last season.
-
Not everyones lives run around football. Sure people saw the weather and thought miss that one. Prob not an extra 1000, but prob another 500. Still werent bad attendance from what I remember. When did away tickets ever go on sale 3 weeks before a game anyway? I normally bought mine on the gate or a few days before.
-
Well I know of some people who had tickets but didnt bother going as they assumed it would have been called off. Lets be honest, it should have been and it would have been a wasted trip if it had been called off. I've never been so cold at a football match, and struggled to get back to my mates who lived a 5 min bus ride from the ground. I dont blame people for not coming from Southampton for that one.

Probably because we've been in adminstration, and have plenty of other clubs, paying high wages CAN work, but it's a bit of a gamble on survival. I don't doubt that with a strike force of Pog and Defoe, they'll stay up however. -

Pog and Defoe will be a pretty decent strike force for the prem, for not a lot of money. However they're just making sure they stay up and not looking down the line. Which way is better, we'll find out by the end of the season, but would be funny if they were relegated. -
Well. Coventry was decent and we could have had as many as we wanted there. Brum would have probably been better if the weather wasnt so bad and it was on sky. It's improved in the last few years, but I do agree there is still a lot of room for improvement. Still think they'll be issues getting tickets though....contemplating getting a ST and just losing out on money or sharing with someone else.

Our away followings have been superb the last few years...but we have been going to every game expecting to win, and they've not been particularly expensive. You also have the feeling that people have fallen back in love with the club again after the mess with Lowe et al. I'm sure after we start struggling the numbers will drop, especially if we're being charged £50 odd to go to games !

We have certainly had our fair share since the first relegation, I'm sure there are plenty more, but there also seem to be a lot in the last 3 years when we've won the majority of our games...!!! -

Truly baffled by this potential player we're after. Foreign, centre mid, not at a big club, covers some ground, would be a starter..... -

Hartlepool seeason before last sticks in my memory, and would be up there if i had to travel backto Southampton that night, such an awful game and was 0-0. think there was about 2 shots all game. -

We've generally been pretty awful up north, would be interested in stats from the last few seasons of our northern away record. -

That Bristol Rovers FA Cup game was a massive low, as we were truly awful, didn't even look the team who was a league (or 2)? above! -

Donny away this year would have been dreadful if I had to travel back a long way....luckily it was just up the road to Sheffield so not too bad! -

That was me guessing about Michu, I have no idea what is going on, but he mentioned he was foreign and i guess it could have a knockon effect meaning someone goes to bolton from reading as well.....
