  1. We definitely wore yellow shirt, blue shorts, and white socks at Barnsley and at Burnley.
  2. No, nor can I see what he tweets as he's blocked me !
  3. West Ham mate also reckons they've nearly signed Zaha...Although he also said Elia and the other Italian bloke would sign.
  4. Sounds like the Udinese match will be at 7pm on Saturday 11th. http://www.udinese.it/ENG/script/view_flsh_news.php?id=3537
  5. Can't say I really noticed him in the Euros but sounds like there could be some truth in it. What I meant by 'the Southampton way' was that we try and keep our interest as private as possible, as Adkins says in pretty much every press conference when asked about transfers either in or out the club.
  6. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7841843/ Could this be us ? Sounds like 'the Southampton way' of doing things....
  7. Can't see many of the Arsenal 'stars' turning up anyway as they'll probably still be on holiday after the euros. (RVP, Walcott, Chambo etc)
  8. 1 per country... Monkou? Fernandes? Kachloul ?
  9. Sign for us and parade new kit on the first?
  10. Anyone know how many games on average are played by each team on Sundays and Mondays?
  11. Would have thought he would have 4-5-1 in mind, with Michu alongside 2 others in CM with Lallana and possibly Lee out wide. We are definitely going to need different options when plan A isnt working. Sounds like he could be a superb signing if it happens.
  12. I think it also had something to do with our players stepping up majorly last season. They were good L1 players the league before, but the younger ones stepped up (Lallana/Morgan) we brought in another good CB to partner Fonte, and also brought in goals in Sharp, also Guly was superb at the start of last season and Lambert looked like he'd been playing at atleast that level for years. I wouldn't say we overperformed, I would say that we showed our potential. I just hope that these players can keep getting better and better and we can show how good we are next season with a few tweaks.
  13. Aren't we having all these games at St Marys over pre season so the FA can test out the ball line technology?
  14. Hardly seen anything of him...but could probably do a job, but won't be massively overwhelmed if we do sign him.
  15. I'm actually sure that Neil McCann wasn't as bad as we thought, he cant have been...however, we didnt pay an awful lot of money for him so didn't matter too much. Pahars was a forward. Walcott would be world class if he could deliver a decent cross everytime, but a lot of quick wingers cant. From all my time watching Southampton (since about 95) we've never really had any real pace in our side, Pahars is probably the only one.
  16. Selassie can be ruled out as he's just signed for Werder Bremen.
  17. I'm sure we have made approaches for many different players, its just whether those inquiries were followed up or not.
  18. West Ham fans reckon Elia and that other italian bloke agreed personal terms tonight, and having medical early next week....Elia will be a cracking signing for them, although Allardyce probably will put him on the bench
  19. Pretty certain Morgan is homegrown.
  20. Pretty sure a wideman doesn't definitely need lightning pace. Whats the point in a rapid winger if they cant cross? Jarvis is very decent, still relatively young and can put in a good delivery, also scores the odd goal, would be a great signing for the right price.
  21. Ooops...spelt name wrong in title..
  22. Good to hear that we're picking them up young !! Future star ?? http://www.thisissomerset.co.uk/story-16428582-detail/story.html Promising Pilton footballer Harvey Woods has been highlighted as one of the hottest prospects in the area after being selected for Southampton's academy. The eight-year-old West Pennard School pupil was chosen from hundreds of other fledging South West footballers to attend the Premier League club's prestigious elite long-term player development programme based at the University of Bath, as well as the new £15million academy at Staplewood. .Proud parents James and Rachel Woods said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Harvey to play in one of the best football academies in the country. "He will get to play alongside some of the best players in the country in his age group and against teams like Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as many more Premier League sides. "There will be a lot of travelling, going to Bath three times a week and to Southampton for games and training but hopefully it will be worth it one day." Harvey previously played for Wells City's under-8s side but will not be able to feature for the Blues next season. However, he intends to keep in touch with his friends at the club and hopes to watch some of their matches next season. Any junior players aged between five and ten looking to get into the game are encouraged to attend Wells' soccer school, which runs from 10-11.30am every Saturday from September. James and Rachel Woods would like to thank Trevor Edwards, Kevin Rogers, Tony Crook, Mark Ambrosini, Mark Murrell, the parents of Wells City's under-8s side, John and Dee and all at the club's soccer school for their support.
  23. Wolves will get far less for him towards the end of the transfer window in my opinion.
  24. I'll go for Saturday lunchtime then !
