A player like Diame would have been ideal IMO.

He is really small which my mate who is a Liverpool fan says its his main problem. He gets bullied on the ball quite a lot, and ends up committing needless fouls. From what I've seen of him he's not great, but he might do well for us if he came (which I doubt anyway). Wouldn't be majorly bothered by his signing and would rather we signed someone better. As someone else said, just because he plays for a massive club, doesn't mean he's that good, especially in a very mediocre Liverpool side last season. He reminds me quite a bit of Gillett to be honest.

Can't say I really noticed him in the Euros but sounds like there could be some truth in it. What I meant by 'the Southampton way' was that we try and keep our interest as private as possible, as Adkins says in pretty much every press conference when asked about transfers either in or out the club.
