Puncheon wasnt about, Lallana was injured at the time along with Chaplow and De Ridder. Probably was quite good for our youth team to be playing with someone that came through the Barcelona academy. He was probably a 'free' loan and if he taught a few of the youngsters a few things then it can't be too bad. Although I am surprised he didnt figure on the bench a few times.
A lot of opposing fans that I spoke to this season thought that Guly caused them a lot of problems. Despite us generally not particularly rating him, and the frustrations he brings, it's his unexpected nature that makes him a problem from the opposition team. I don't think he's amazing by any stretch but he was involved in our best and most effective football this season.
Someone mentioned Van Der Weil somewhere which I read, cant remember where i read it, probably just another made up rumour.
Would be a decent signing though I think.
Jaidi posted on twitter that he wasn't going away as he had important things planned in a work sense. I would have thought he'll be offered a coaching role here as he is clearly a good bloke to have about the place.
Antonio is average, half decent L1 player but really not great at all. Appreciate the impact he had when he played for us, but if we'd signed him this season, I can't have seen him playing much.
I certainly think that personality will come into it quite a lot. If they are like the stereotype premier league footballer than I'm not sure we'll be that interested as team ethics will play a huge part next season. We need hungry players who are down to earth who fit in with the bunch we have now. They are clearly all very good friends as well as teammates.
The first part of that made me realise how good and effective Connolly was in the side. Him, Lambert, Guly and Lallana linked up unbelievably at the start of the season. AWESOME
