Well I've buckled and bought one but will be sharing it. Atleast it means I'll be able to go to away games now ! COYS

I actually quite liked Folly when he joined, thought he had a good presence about him in the middle of the park, with huge potential and coached in the right way he could be a class act. I've clearyl been proved wrong !! haha. Maybe it was he just stood out in a few bad seasons.

Bit odd that there is no run off area off the pitch, it's just carpet? Would thought the grass would go back at least a yard. And how did you get in the stadium so early !?

Is your boss ITK? Or is he just very hopeful? A class player to play on the other side to Lallana would be awesome. -

http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/332690 Southampton manager Nigel Adkins is not only hopeful the newly-promoted side will avoid relegation but believes they will soon be challenging for Europe and ultimately the Premier League title. The south coast side return to the top flight this season after a tumultuous seven-year absence, which saw them drop to the third tier and teeter dangerously close to liquidation. Southampton were saved from extinction by the late Swiss billionaire Markus Liebherr, who appointed Nicola Cortese to run the club as executive chairman. Three seasons on and Saints are back in the Premier League and Adkins believes the club can now look forward an exciting period in its history. He told Press Association Sport: "It's a very positive future ahead." He added: "Nicola Cortese set the dream out and the vision to me to be in the Premier League within five years. Since he has been here, they've done it in three with back-to-back promotions and we're very, very ambitious. "What we've got to do is make sure we're ambitious in the Premier League and not just go there and think 'oh, well if we can just get enough points to stay up then that will be successful'. "We've got to drive on, strive to be the best and Europe is obviously the goal. We can draw inspiration from Norwich and Swansea last season in how they acquitted themselves. "Southampton Football Club ultimately have got to be in the division to get into Europe and ultimately have the dream of winning the division." Such ambitions will surprise many and when asked whether Europe was a realistic target this season, Adkins added: "Well, that is the vision and the dream you have to strive to keep improving for. "The training facilities have improved and are improving. The stadium has improved and will keep improving. The standard of the players has improved and will keep improving. "The ambition is very, very high. You have to be realistic as well, but you've got to reach for the top." Very positive from Adkins as you would expect. Lets not run before we can walk - 17th would be a successful season, nice to see us have the ambition though.

South_Agent is someone on this forum being a bellend. FACT. -
Think they have the 'Come Dine With Cortese' instead

Mentioned it to my Palace supporting mate, and said he had heard he was on his way here as well. Very solid defender won't make many mistakes but is quick and will get forward. Said 2/3m would be very fair for both parties and I'd agree.

Was massively impressed with Debuchy at the Euros. Will be a great signing for the toon. Surprised Man Utd or Chelsea havent gone in for him. -

It was mentioned we were interested in him last summer! Why does it matter if you're 'ITK' anyway ?! -

Sure if it was a big signing then it would be being reported elsewhere ? -

Based on him having a decent season but not amazing, he wasn't great defensively, but did have a great delivery. Naugton has a years experience in the Prem and was very good for Norwich last season. I would be absolutely delighted if we signed him. Also he was hugely rated at Sheff Utd and he's only 23. Huge potential. -

Wouldnt surprise me if it was Dann. Would be a decent signing, not amazing but an area which we need to strengthen, -
It's been easy to travel over the last few years though for younger people as the tickets were cheap. It will be interesting to see how many of these younger lads can afford it.

Don't think I once dismissed them. Pog and Defoe are better now than our players hence me also saying I don't doubt they'll stay up. BUT IF we can stay up this season with a youthful team, then our way will look better. We've clearly got high hopes for the younger lads we've brought in, however, I wouldn't have said no to Defore or Pog -
TCM, We're not as big of a club as you seen to think we are!!! Also our location isn't going to help attendances. If Southampton was based in Birmingham or London, I'm sure we would take more, fact is it's not and we're not a massive club.
-
What and yuou bought them on the day of release for every game ? Never just thought, "oh I fancy going this weekend, wasnt going to but not got anything else to do"
-
Our attendances really werent that bad at all last season.
-
Not everyones lives run around football. Sure people saw the weather and thought miss that one. Prob not an extra 1000, but prob another 500. Still werent bad attendance from what I remember. When did away tickets ever go on sale 3 weeks before a game anyway? I normally bought mine on the gate or a few days before.
-
Well I know of some people who had tickets but didnt bother going as they assumed it would have been called off. Lets be honest, it should have been and it would have been a wasted trip if it had been called off. I've never been so cold at a football match, and struggled to get back to my mates who lived a 5 min bus ride from the ground. I dont blame people for not coming from Southampton for that one.
