  1. And you're sure there was 50K of damage to Benali's house are you? Why? Because Benali said so honest guv. Please we do only have one side of the story and even that's not directly from the horses mouth.
  2. Weston, not read the article, just wondering why the club need an olive branch?
  3. Brother lives in Leeds and says it's snowing as well, so we may yet have another postponement.
  4. Yeh, wondered what the hell was going on with that, didn't Lansdowne road also look similar though. A lovely stadium even though it's a bit odd!
  5. A divorce, starting petioning tomorrow :-)
  6. That's a clear as a pint of Guinness to me Nick.
  7. Well that's all good news.....so who is getting the profits from the event? Another charity? Or was Cortese right in not allowing others to make a profit from the clubs name?
  8. Wind your neck in would ya ffs. As I'd said before, I ignored this thread knowing where it would go. I hadn't seen any publicity saying the money would be going to charity for the event @ the Mayflower, all I wanted was clarification on this issue. If all of the money is going to charity and the accounts are audited happy days, in which case I couldn't see why the club were being shirty.
  9. I've got no gripes with ex-saints, I was merely pointing out Nuffield Health were also a charity. I wasn't aware they make no profit at all from the gyms, private consultations etc they provide. So where does all of their money go? I shall look it up.
  10. I'm just pointing out that a company that run private gyms and hospitals is also a charity! Personally I couldn't give a flying **** about the disagreement between the club and ex saints. If there's no profit to be made from this venture then why wouldn't the club be associated with it.
  11. As is Nuffield Health, who are also a profit making organisation.
  12. Quite, there are general charity events and then there is the event at the Mayflower. Who is getting the proceeds from this event @ the Mayflower?
  13. So without reading all eight pages, what's happening to any profit from this little soiree? If all of the profit is going to charity I really cannot see an issue from the clubs perspective.
  14. I'm sure the child will be loved very much, but I can't help my feeling that it's wrong for any same sex couple to bring up a child.
  15. Well seeing as BTF moved this on a bit, the QuickStep flooring is bloody lovely.
  16. Assuming it's a wooden floor underneath you don't need to plastic membrane although no harm if you do. I just did the kitchen at the weekend; for underlay just used the B&Q fibreboard stuff, one pack covers nearly 10m2.
  17. An odd one, if he wants to get in the CCC just stay put based on current form

    306 xsi

Peugeot 306 XSI for sale. V reg MOT till June or July 85K on the clock K&N air filter (if that excites anyone!) One brand new tyre, others are ok. Decent runner, been using it to go to Bournemouth and back without problems. Have some new ignition leads and plugs (cost £70) but haven't fitted them yet. Got these as it's slightly misfiring occasionally. Offers?
  19. Yes my figures are well off, thanks for pointing out that article. If you get a chance watch the program on iplayer, more enlightening than the short article.
  20. Not sure tbh, I'm from the comprehensive era, there wasn't one grammar school in Southampton when I went to secondary. Andrew Neil and David Davis came from normal backgrounds, if you have the intelligence and the work ethic why shouldn't you have the same opportunities as someone from Eton? Unfortunately the Eton old boys network gives people who may be less able than the comprehensive pupil a leg up in life. Neil and Davis both bemoaned the move back to privileged backgrounds in politics away from the meritocracy of the 60s and 70s. Social mobility, pah. Those in power never want to lose it, the privileged classes have regained the upper hand unless you want to pay £30k per year for Eton and even then the selection process would weed out undesireables.
  21. Absolutely true Verbal, meritocracy is no longer in place. Watched the program posh and posher this week, Dune I suggest you do. I *think* the figures were 66% of the 120 MPs in the condem government went to public schools, I could have just made that % up though! Have a look on iplayer very enlightening, David Davies came across very well as someone who came from a grammar school background.
  22. Which sounds like a great move from KPMG, why goto uni if you can get AAT, CIMA or some other qualication whil working; not everyone is cut out for uni or needs to go. I made my way through the jobs market through the much derided YTS scheme in the late 80's, 6 months at college and 6 months in work placement with the college working getting me a BTEC in IT and a full time job after a year with my employer. The one thing I would like to know from the chaps who've recently graduated, did you do an internship with a company in the the summer of year 2? This week I was speaking to a colleague in the HR department at my company and they haven't yet filled their internships for summer 2011, which I find amazing given the difficult jobs market. Yes so it's 11 weeks unpaid but you do get travel and food costs covered, but at the end you could get a job offer or a place in the graudate program, WTF is wrong with these students graduating in 2012?
  23. I hope he gets the book thrown at him, at least the two (?) others found guilty so far have admitted their crime, this fella carried on denying it. I don't usually buy into "remorse" getting you a shorter sentence, but the stretch should be increased here as he was obviously guilty and continued to take the ****,.
  24. Those comments were stupid, in conjunction with the sexual harassment I can see why they sacked him.
  25. I wouldn't vote the the turncoat liberals again. Did it once, never again.
