I personally don't think they are out of the woods yet with regard to relegation, but we will see. As for what next season holds for them or potential points deductions, my two pennies worth is this. Whilst we laugh and joke about the FL being toothless and how pompey always get away with it, I am still quite sure the failed CVA will get a points deduction, whether that is this season or next I have no idea. That's not born out of hope, (I really couldn't care about them now) but when you think back to how the points deductions for administration were bought about (leciester) then it's the only logical conclusion to this mess. There is however NO precedent of this (That I can find) but with the FL / FA putting such value on acheiving a CVA (Additional minus points if you don't) then if they fail to act, it undermines the whole process and leaves it open to abuse and almost an attractive option for dumping tens of millions of pounds worth of debt for a measley 10 point deduction. If they don't act, then there is nothing to stop clubs going into adminstration promising amounts they can never honour, to get the CVA through and then going back into admin to protect themselves and starting the whole process again. I could well be wrong, but i can't see it. In many ways it is almost irrelevant anyway, unless the new owners are seriously rich, they will have no option but to cut their cloth accordingly and however long that takes, they will end up somewhere around a mid table league one team,, looking up in envy at us.

Nothing gay about this my friend.........

Well you started off by saying you thought the club was for sale, but that NC would want to be kept on and allowed to continue his project, which then changed to the Liebherrs would sell, but on the condition that the plans were continued. So first things first, The club is going to cost someone over 30 million, (Probably nearer 50 million + if we get promoted). So anyone with that sort of money is likely to want their own people running things or at the very least their own people on the ground. Secondly, you don't sell something for 30 million + and then say but you have to spend another 10 million over here and another 5 million over there etc. unless it's coming out of the asking price, so sorry sour mash, however much it annoyed you, as I said business just doesn't work like that. As for Cortese looking to sell us on to a similar contact, that would assume that either party (The Liebherrs & Cortese) isn't very happy with the other, or funds aren't available to match expectation or Cortese's vision, or simply that the Liebherrs want out. On the basis that Cortese has just been made an Executive Director of the group company, that would seem unlikely .The Billy Sharp signing , plus development work at Staplewood suggests that money is being invested and when you add those two bits together, it doesn't add up they are looking to get rid (Or have had the club up for sale for a while - Which was your original point). With regard to Markus writing off a certain amount to be invested in Saints, I assume you mean he allocated an amount to be invested, which is probably right (We know he created a 20 million loan note to draw down from) but as his family & Cortese are now running it, if the club were for sale, it just doesn't make any sense (Given our league position as well) to spend it on that side of things, if all they were trying to do was get rid You should also check with your sources about the senior management "Question and answer session" Cortese held a couple of weeks ago, I understand he went into quite some detail on the future and his / the families plans, goals aspirations etc.

Business just doesn't work like that and if/ when we are sold, it would be very unlikely that Cortese will be kept on after the normal transition period. We will be sold at some point, but it would be very strange to invest in things like the training ground now if they were actively looking to sell. They are so close to realising over five times what Markus paid for the club, that if there was an exit stratergy, it would make more sense to throw that money at bringing in superstars to get them over the line. Ironically though, it might (Very big might) be promotion that triggers the family to sell (Markus's wish /hopes/ dreams accomplished and a very healthy financial return on investment). I wouldn't worry about it too much though for the foreseable future, just enjoy what we've got and where we are.

Heard the same with the difference that some of the area around the ballast sites, leases come up next year. I wont add further as to what we intend to do there on the basis that I'm not sure my "barber" is a credible source.

I'm not sure that an ex pat should be telling regular attending fans how they should or shouldn't act / behave etc.

I think he has his man for a takeover. There is enough money to get them to the end of the season, so there is nothing in it for a new owner to take over now and the price will be different if they are in the championship or League one.... Which would justify his little gamble with varney and pearce etc. It will of course all be in the detail, will chinny keep his charge or will he be paid off........

milliband ( my lip reading) ...........great speech

He's just joined pompey after a trial

But there's four of him (So to speak) so yours would equate to 1k respectively

Illness cover would go down as essential, so i'm thinking of more the day to day costs of living and socialising.
-
How much does living or your scial life cost you a month? Not asking how much you earn, but after all the necessary bills have been paid, how much do you need to support your lifestyle? Obvioulsy it is going to vary depending if you have or support kids etc. , but we seem to burn loads here, without having an extravagant lifestyle.

Are we still unpleasant club to deal with?
Gemmel replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
The telegraph report on the game was the first one out last night and I suspect they wanted Adkins or club spokesperson to interview and then gush about us going up and what a good season we have had etc etc. I think the Guardian (Or another) wrote something about wanting to do a great article on us earlier in the season and couldnt understand the pushback they got from the club. My guess (And that's all it is) is this probably comes from Adkins rather than Cortese. Think back to after the plymoouth game last season Adkins wouldn't accept we were promoted and would only talk about having a job to do for the last game of the season. The last thinkg he wants his players and fans to believe is that the job is already done, by reading how great they are in the papers It's not done and dusted and nothing has been won yet and if we have upset a few journos, to make sure that doesn't happen, I'm not sure us or Cortese will be bothered. -
Is that your league average

http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Elvis-Is-A-Pompey-Fan-3229.aspx It's not as bad as it looks. They are having a fancy dress theme tonight, but 10,000 of them are going as "The invisible man"

This perhaps be significant, for a couple of reasons 1) It's the only solution that makes them close to being viable and to lose chinny along the way.I suspect 10 million would be enough and whilst there would be opposition, they could make it happen. 2) You don't just set up a council meeting to ask to buy some private land. They will be acting on the information from Birch and the likelihood of liquidation and what he thinks chinny would accept. The window of time to make this happen is very small. Another option is that a buyer or consortium are working with council, with the council stumping up the cash for the ground and a deal for rent or percentage of ticket sales already agreed. Few more weeks to go yet, but the first bit of news with any relevance for a while, in my opinion.

Intresting that the Varney to Forest deal has fallen through. Forest couldn't guarantee they would buy the player at the end of the season. Which suggests that all other players that have left, have actually be sold, but can't be formailsed until the transfer window opens..... Goes some way to explaining the 700k loan fee for Henderson.

No worries fella, I'm not sure it matters that much anyway...... whatever they do or don't get from pp, it's not as much as they need.
