http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/opinion/wage-bill-is-fratton-legacy-issue-that-just-won-t-go-away-1-3695140 DO you think that is tbh they are tlaking about with the shower, top button and fish and chips? (Why would the news know anything about other clubs players? The second from last line is very telling....... "So it's back to playing in the rules" No ****, perhaps you shoud have tried that 4 years ago

He doesn't talk about going for a new CVA as a definante or with any conviction and quite frankly I just can't see one being approved. I think Trousers touched on the "What happens if they exit wthout a CVA scenario" but I don't think we know for sure (May be liquidate the new old company) In the mean time, with appy trying to recruit players from the Championship for league one it might be worth registering with a bulk order at "Companies House"; portsmouth (2013) football club ltd portsmouth (2014) football club ltd portsmouth (2015) football club ltd

Birch keeps insisting that he can sell fratton park for whatever amounts he can get for it and Chanerai will have to lump it. Does anyone know if this is true or not? With a charge over the ground, can he decide he doesn't two million quid or whatever and just keep the ground? The whole trust proposal (Which is doomed to failure anyway) is based on the fact that chinny will just have to walk away
-
We might never play them again.
-
The CVA has failed and I am not even sure Birch is going for another one, simply as it won't be passed. The question for the FL is whether they act now or in the close season, once they see the outcome of any takeover.

Taken off a skate board, so apologies if he didn't. But if he did, then he is as thick as fook. I've met him a few times and like the bloke (Genuine die hard Saints fan) and the stick he gets for being the fans representitive is uncalled for, but if this really his take on the news today, then he probably shouldnt be talking to the press on anything to do with Southampton FC,. The coverting of loans into equity is little more than writing off the debt, quite how it means thery are tightenin the screw is beyond me.... Go ask Chanerai. Sorry Nick, nice guy, but if this is your article, then you are the guy betting on a pair of two's when the othe guy hold's quad aces. Firstly our income this season wont have increased hugely, the difference between league one and the Championship is minimal, literally the tv money plus gate money (4k average increase @ £17 per ticket average = £1.56 million) probably all off set against increased wage bill. The key point is that our wages equate to 93% of our income, think how much we have been slaughtering Pompey for having such a high wage bill and how that is the road to disaster, Personally I dont think there is much to worry about, but the inference is clear, the Libeherr family are in this for money, whether markus loved the club is now sadly not an issue, but converting loans to shares, although just shifting paper, shows that they are tightening down the small print on the contract. The reality is that we have and are making a loss, the only differnce between us and Pompey is that our owners havent been arrested and had their assets frozen and therefore cant pay the bills. All I am saying is we have spent the last six months berating Pompey supporters for allowing owners to come in and spend money that the club doesnt have and how they havent learnt their lessons, yet we are in exactly the same boat. As I say i dont think the liebherrs are of the same ilk as Pompeys owners, but that doesnt change the points about overspending, two years after admin and the accounts show that we have got into worse expenditure against income than that we had before

Club Finance Story - On Solent from 7am this morning
Gemmel replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
Could be, but when you consider the Roman Abromvich did this 5 years ago at Chelsea, then probably not. -
Can't help but agree with you Trousers. There are three things that have come up that didnt make any sense to me over the last week or so; 1) Yesteday, Birch said that the old CVA would potnetially go into a new CVA if there was one. The word potential suggests that he is not definately going for a new CVA. Also if he was going for a new CVA, where is the public notices to all creditors? I think they have to issue these 14 days as a minimum before a creditors meeting and then the work starts. I'm no expert but that whole process from start to finish takes about 2 - 3 months, which is past the time they can fund. 2) The news web chat was questioning why Birch wasn't prepared to sell season tickets to help fund the gap between end of this and the start of next season. The news couldnt give a reason, but seemed to confirm that season tickets would not be going on sale. 3) Stopping the Council buying the ground. This still strikes me as such a strange thing to do. Regardless if he had buyers in the wings, this was almost the perfect backdrop, in case anything fell through. Whatever the reason, this is significant. Starting to get intresting again.......

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17545079 "There is a potential development scheme there and the club has already proven it can hold its own in the Premier League. There's no reason it can't do that again As much as Storrie is a hero amoungst Saints fan, he really is thick as fook No peter, the club hasn't proven it can hold it's own in the prem. All that's been proven is that the club can't hold it's own in the prem, without blowing 130 million pounds of other peoples money.

Then you dont understand the new tiering system
-
It doesnt matter Trousers, it has now been formally declared as failed and confirmed by Baker Tilly Comment From small creditor small creditor : ] Further to your story with Trevor Birch today, I can confirm creditors from last (2010) admin have had letters saying their previous debt now forms part of new CVA to be drawn up. Which for many means getting a percentage of a percentage!

Nope, didn't know it was on the Beeb, but makes no difference.... Biggest venue with a TV then
-
Where's the biggest venue in Southampton that shows Sky for Saturday? Pre sky i remember some big games being shown at the Polygon hotel and also back at the Dell with a big screen on the pitch and fans watching from a stand. (Can anyone confirm I haven't dreamt that) The bigeest screens I can think of is; Walkabout (Is that still there) The bowling place in (Mlilbrook) The Sporting View (Sports centre) The Saints (Millbrook)

I genuinely think that is a red herring. The point in question is as to whether they have gained competitive advantage in doing so. The Scarborough example, proves (And yes it was the Conference) that the footballing authorities recognise the issues / advantages changing the terms of the CVA provides. If the Football league follow that through, it won't matter what company it was or wasn't. So first big question will the the FL follow suit (Have pompey gained competitive advantage by ignoring the CVA) Second question how many points (The only example is Scarborough) Thrid question, this year or next. I am with Rallyboy on this one, if they don't get punished for this (Go back 18 months and there's 200 posts on how the CVA would never be repaid) then they absolutely will have got away with it and Andronikou will be the busiest footballing adminsitrator in the World....any club in trouble willl want one of his CVA's. I have little faith in the FL, but I just can't see how they can't punish them.
-
It seems I was wrong earlier. Apparently there is precedent for renegotiating the terms of a CVA Scarborough - minus 10 points for changing / renegotiating the terms of their CVA.
-
This is just Birch putting presuure on the FL...... Think back to andriod assuring the blue few they will be takiing up the european place and sue if they are not allowed.
