There's something in what you say, but don't forget this is a guy trying to sign the biggest gig of his personal life, let a lone a whole cities expectations on his shoulders. To come out with a statement that the FL document is illegal, when it has obviously been drafted by their own lawyers is either very clever or desperate. In any event it would all take time, which we don't have. Without funds this week, i would expect the football club to go into administration or liquidation and malwhinney can say he was right all along. Unless TL's backer bites the bullet or a new one comes along. This could be the beginning of the end

I heard the interview and this is a very different Tony Lynam. Far less bullish and sounded flat / exhausted. My personal opnion is that the Pinnnacle takeover is nearly dead. The bit he refered to as "Illegal" was signing a document that stated "Southampton Football Club" were in administration, not the right to appeal (That's how I understood it anyway. I take back what i said on aother post today and believe that the FL are trying to push the club into administration, which would effectively cover their arses. Come on the Swiss..... your turn

I didn't say it was. The point i was trying to make is that livelihoods are at stake, as is the existance of a football club. The football league, can with a single stroke secure the employees, the club and the fans future. Small leverage may be, but leverage non the same.

As an earlier poster has said - I am going to remain positive for today, so with that in mind, the staff not being paid, can work in Pinnacles favour. The football leagues actions or stance is now directly affecting the livelihoods of people working in the game and the club now has a real possibility of folding. It is now in their interests to do what ever they can to help, whilst at the same time keeping face and seen to be fair to other clubs that have suffered the same fate. I note with the interest that Pinnacle appear to be the only ones talking with the FL. If mj was serious he would be all over them to try and understand exactly what the issues are, as they would be the same for any buyer.............. you can bet your house on it that if mj's lot were talking to the FL , he would have told the world. So Tony Lynams pitch, is for one small concession (Whatever that may be) the FL could save the jobs and possibly an entire club, by helping us out. Without that help, people wont be paid along with their mortgages , bills etc and that is as a direct result of the FL actions

I'm sure her law degree came in handy, although i suspect the comment from her supervisor was just harmless fun

That's harsh considering FF hs shared a number of things with the forum and for my money has never come across as "Ner ner ner ner" , infact i think he posted something that upset Crouch to the point, they fell out. Rightly or wrongly, the pinnacle bid is losing credibiity with a significant number of fans and suggesting naming the money man seems a logical way to put fans minds at rest.
-
Agreed. I have it as today or tomorrow at the very very latest, otherwise Pinnacle will be dead in the water

Noodles, it might be time to put that splif down for the night;)

Just did a round up of whats to come and no mention of Le Tissier

I think Saint Bletch, is on the money with this one and would be very surpised if all the wranglings are simply down to the minus 10........ which they have known about fo some time.
-
TL hasnt refered to them in his last two statements, citing only the issues with the FL. Not sure whether they that means they have been resolved or not, but if they have and the league did put something in writing for Pinnacle to digest last night, we could see something happen today.

Message from Tony Lynam - Saturday 20th June 12:54pm

I agree. Fingers crossed -
If it meant the takeover could be done and dusted on Monday, or should we hold out, do battle with the FL and see if we can overturn it, even if it means the takeover drags on a little longer? Having resigned myself to the minus 10 points and a season of making sure we stay in league one, with the recent names bandied around of the people that might be manager, chairman etc and the seemingly assured position of the new people that they can get the 10 points taken off, which if happens, would surely give us a decent shout at promotion, i'm getting greedy and happy to hold out a little longer

Unless the debts were paid in full......over 30 million, (Which didn't happen) then we will still need a CVA or am i missing something

Spot on

Sky said it was the way that the deal has been structured and at a guess, that has been done in a way that wouldn't leave the FA / FL a leg to stand on and by rubber stamping the deal they would effectively be wiping the points of themselves
-
No having same problems
-
As per posts above, but he also mentioned all money and documents are done and in place. As for the FA, its a bit like arguing with the missus...... even if you are right..... youre wrong
-
Sky saying its the Football League that are holding things up
