Portsmouth boss Paul Hart has warned supporters not to expect too much as Sulaiman Al Fahim's takeover of the club neared completion. The property tycoon has been named Pompey chairman, but Hart does not expect a Manchester City-style spree. "It's important everybody understands that we have to cut our cloth," Hart, who has been appointed on a permanent basis, told BBC Radio 5 Live. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8162244.stm still not done then............ so sad

Still something not quite right.......anybody else find the wording a bit strange......... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8160777.stm Portsmouth have agreed in principle to a takeover by United Arab Emirates businessman Sulaiman Al Fahim. "The owners of Portsmouth are pleased to announce that an agreement in principle has been reached over the sale of the club," said a statement. Al Fahim has also been appointed Pompey chairman after passing the Premier League's fit and proper person test.

Care to expand? He was behind me in the queue to Lords on Saturday and didn't look like he would last the wait in................let alone take up a day job.
-
Official announcement is "Agreement In Principle" Whilst i'm sure it will all go through eventually, that doesn't sound to me like everythiing is cut and dried. Looking forward to meeting the fishy few very soon

Just for you Phil............... http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=424&fid=203&sty=2&act=1&mid=2125309369 i understand peoples concerns about fahim not being a billionaire, but i've read reports online and in the paper (the daily mail, if i recall) and general reasearching which confirm he doesn't just scrape the billionaire tag, he is very much comfortably in the billionaire bracket. I've a friend who works in UAE and apperantly he is ranked as the 3rd richest man over that neck of woods and is comfortably a billionaire. He also confirmed with an interview not long ago, when asked a question, that he is a comfortable billionaire. His family are reportedly worth a trillion. Not In man city owner bracket, but who is? It has been widely thought that Fahim is TEN times the wealth of Roman Abromovich. I understand peoples concerns, and rumours, but for the worrying Pompey fans, this guy is the real deal. If we get him, which looks likely, then brace up, it's going to be one hell of an incredible ride! If we don't, we move on!

Agree with that, but would also add (And it sounds a bit pedantic) wrong time, wrong job title.

Two (possibly 3 - not sure about stokes, seem to remember something, but could be wrong) of your player list have been banned for drink driving, surely they would come into the same brackett as the Disgraced Lundekvam?????????? Another two faced rape charges (Which were later dropped). As you have taken exception to Claus's conviction, i assume you will amend your list, so as not to appear to be "trolling"

Very Happy

Quite a few now..... his transfer total, must be adding up to fair amount

I think this will all go through eventually, but nowhere near the reported 60 million. (You could buy Everton for that money - According to Kenwright) Dr Dubai, has gayboy over a barrell. Gayboys loan notes have dried up and he now needs to get shot, the longer this all takes, the less its all worth and the nearer the season kickoff, the more vunerable they look. My guess is that somewhere towards the end of this month, they will complete for an undisclosed fee Unless of course the pizza takeaway in New york, is doing incredibly well :smt044

It is unusual and i'd assume, quite deliberate.

Sorry Phil, i forgot what thread i was posting on. The sad thing is, i expect ive read every one of the 6000 odd posts of absolute tosh about 3 times

Stop making things up

I would guess (And don't know) that he was given a one month rolling contract. Just can't see annaul contracts being dished out in the state we were in.

Top article Would any Saints fan really disagree with any of that, regardless of who wrote or issued it

You don't invest the money that markus L has and leave the most important job to someone with his experience, history or previous results. However loyal Woote was in the pre season, this was his biggest ever gig and i doubt he will ever manage at this level again. He does go with our thanks and best wishes, but the reality (especially now) is that we can do much better.

WTF .....i'm over the f0oking moon. What agenda? I've waited a lot longer than 97 days for today to happen and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Lay off them....drugs are still illegal

saint stevo should be banned in IMO

I'm not sure if they are one of the same, but; 1) FL withdrawing us from league one 2) Disappearing completely / Winding the club up I can't help but think we weren't a million miles off with the first one. Knowing we wouldn't beable to trade for too much longer and the time it takes to get these things done (Even when rushed through) The FL must have started to put in place some sort of contingency plan of withdrawing us from the league. As for going bust completely, even if we were wound up, we have come back in some guise, Blue square, or whatever.... it probably would have never been the same and i guess it's all irrelevant now, but would be interesting to know, just how close we really came.

I saw the full AO interview early on and he basically said they will speak to MLT for his thoughts but not for a job. The sky reporter pushed him on it saying it would be the populist choice and AO said that was irrelevant as they would be running it as a business.

No one can upset me today - call me what you like (Although have a look a couple of posts down) ;)
