Cheers all - i don't feel stupid - Honest (******* crap journo's)

I was reading a piece on Woking this morning with a quote from their manager "Graham Barker". Thinking this was our old boy , I read on with more interest, only to discover it was Barker, not Baker. Anyway, set me thinking, does anybody know what ever happened to Graham Baker? Good little player in his day, but not really spoken about considering he was part of the "Golden Era"

Whilst it is still a mathematical possibility, it should remain a goal, but we shouldn't consider the season a failure if we don't make it. As much as we all like to dream, our single biggest objective remains survival. If we continue to progress in the way we have and fail to make the play offs, assuming we keep the majority of the squad together, we will be very well placed for a full scale promotion push next season.

Yet again a half decent post laced with the "loaded dice"

Great post. Thats exactly as I see it. I used to read with disbelief some of the stuff posted about Lallana on here (That includes you Derry football Genius) and just laugh. The reality is though we won't be laughing for long This lad is so far ahead of the rest of the league that we wont hold on to him for long. Wonderful footballer and really enjoying him in a Saints shirt for however long it lasts

Will you come out and explain why your previous user names were unable to abide by the forum rules and thus got banned? No.... you have had plenty of opportunities to do so, but you have chosen not to, yet you demand MLT Saints hero does so....get a life. The problem is you were slating him and the book before this all came out and the way it comes across is that this has just given you a platform to spout your bile. The irony is that your first set of digs (After Pinnacle) were about the fact that the book would not be worth buying because you wouldn't learn anything about the man and it wouldn't contain any new revelations. When you are talking football, you actually make some real sense. So stop winding up Saints fans on the pretense of caring or claiming some moral high ground, ditch the politics and get on with supporting the club.

I ....no one else cares

I went to the Leeds vs Millwall play off game at Elland Road and having done most big matches, this was far and away the loudest I've ever heard. The fact it was non stop as well was very impressive.

Your anti Mcmenemy line seems to allude to the totally false allegation that his son was Mcmenemy's agent. I often wonder who started that little gem. Anyway as confirmed by Saints, Crouch and Pearson himself it is totally without merit and no fees or costs were paid to either, for hiring Pearson. As for a strange appointment, If the criteria was anything like an English manager who is used to working with kids...............it doesn't seem so strange and given we don't know how he came over in the interview process, it's hardly for us to judge. As you were one of the ones who continually slated him..... does it grate a bit he won the league? Once it looked like promotion was assured you told us all his real test would be the Championship..... 1 defeat in 11, little money spent and using the kids as well, looks pretty good to me. You also told us that he only won the title because he kept the same squad, which in the most part he has again, but that squad under another manager proppred up the league, but with Pearson, have a shot a promotion. Looks like a sound peice of business from Mr mandick and can't see him ditching this one just yet.

I find it so strange the negativity at best and bile at worst directed, towads Nigel Pearson. It is not lost on me that most of the dissenters were either, lowe supporters, anti Crouch or both. I don't need to look at statistics or games to win ratios, anyone who had followed us for the season when Pearson took over, will know that he picked up a throughly demotovated, uninspiring and luck lustre team that were heading for relegation and turned them around. Sure there blips along the way and it came down to the wire, but he did what he had to do in a very short period of time and regardless of which side of the fence your politics lay at that point in time, every Saints fan, should thank him and wish him well. His sacking is now a mute point as we will never know whether he would have faired any differently to the mighty dutch duo, but for those that continue to slate him with labels such as "Boot boy" etc. you do so at the risk of looking stupid, as with a title under his belt and one defeat in 11 in the championship (Very little spent & good use of the kids) (Yes that's the same championship they were relegated from) he looks very much on course to be a very good if not excellent manager.

Could be the brain matter getting a bit scrambled, but wasn't he linked to us once as one of the favorites for the job? (Don't ask me which time we've had so ******* many of them)

Genius advertising campaign

Where did Patrick Colleter play? Wasn't he a full back as well

If we made it, it will be the first chance for a big % of our fans to see Saints at Wembley (Dont bother correcting about old and New Wembley). Iv'e only seen us there once and couldn't give a stuff what trophy it is- Would love to see us there again and good to see Pardew recognising the fans contribution. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4665637.Pardew_wants_to_thank_Saints_fans_with_Wembley_win/

I thought he came on as sub in the second half and was taken off about twenty minutes later
-
Micky Adams played left back for a while ( I think)
-
I doubt very few will argue with that. Read on another thread someone gave him a 9........which unless the scorer was Stevie Wonder was a tad kind. Lambert was a different class
-
Ha ha if that is true, it gets even more bizarre. He really should be officially known as "Dr Saints"
-
I actually think this is positive news for our fishy friends. The "Save of Face" exercise has begun. He will now sell to Storries mob, due to ill health and ironically probably make a few million out of it all.
-
I Just can't see how this makes any sense, Unless al fahim, really is Dr Saints. Even if he (al fahim) paid a minimal amount for the club, or as is thought - nothing, the loans are now secured against him and not gaymark, so it would fook him up as much as pompey. Not to mention the loss of face, which would further dent his diminishing reputation.
-
I think a few people need to re read this thread. I can't believe that positivity has been eraded within two games. Everything that was said and discussed that night is still valid. 12 managers and two relegations wasn't a coincidence. Pardew hasn't got everything right (I've levelled that at him on here) but surely we've learnt something about chopping and changing

Gordan Brown, announced a referendum on voting if he wins the next election (And understand the Lib Dems have been banging on about it for years) and I remember doing this at school (Long time ago) "proportional representation" and all that, but can anyone explain it and how it works in plain English. Cheers
