I can't believe that money is the issue with Leon. Something has happened. May be something to do with the money he fronted during administration, but Leon was a fan long before he got anyway near the board and for him to just ditch it weeks after pumping dead money into the club seems very strange.

Apologies to those that don't approve of the thread If nothing else it was a big compliment to the lad who is top top talent. But lets not forget, Adam needed Pardew to convince him to stay when the oppurtunity arose for him to leave. The MLT's of this world have gone, so that's not a judgement on Adam, just a fact of life. What has changed is our circumstances and it will be interesting to see how we deal with approaches for our players (Which we will) compared to years gone by. The other thought is that if we don't make the play offs this season (Still a huge huge ask) Then next seasons success will depend largely on keeping as much of the squad together as possible. With so many loan players and our top players attracting interest from higher clubs, the trick will be holding on to as many as we can.

I can't help feeling the answer is "Not long" The last few games he has been a different class to anybody else on the pitch in terms of vision, ability and execution. Turning down Wolves is one thing, when one of the big clubs come calling, we will see how strong his resolve is. Not trying to put a downer on yesterday or how well things are going at the moment and love seeing the lad in a Saints shirt, but having grown up and watch us (In many cases need to) religuiously sell our best and most talented players, i'm hardened to the fact it will happen. It will be interesting to see if our new set up changes the way we do things when it comes to selling players.

The answer regarding immigration is that it is all about perception. Significant numbers of the public are against immigration and our Countries policies, without really knowing why or indeed what they are. For many it's just a kop out and allows them to blame something other than themselves, as to why they dont have a big house or flash car. Others are simply ignorant to the facts or the reality of what immigration acheives. For both groups of people and the huge numbers of those undecided on the issue, there should be debate/ dialogue etc. Labour and Tories seem incapable or unwilling to discuss it head on......which may be down to the fact that they don't want to get labeled as racist. When you do get people wanting or prepared to discuss it, they give themselves stupid names that provocate both sides and a quick scratch under the surface and they are exposed as the violent racsists they are and so it's back to square one. The bnp, English defence league and others will continue to gain votes and popularity until, the main stream parties explain to the man in the street the realities, benefits and upside of immigration.

At the time of us (SFC) going into administration, one of his other companies R F Webb, wrote to all creditors begging them not to put the company into administration (18 months after they made big redundancies). Additionally his other chairmanship at WH Ireland was posting substantial (consecutive) loses, a massive drop in share price and a board room revolt........sound familiar:confused:

I don't think thats true Hatch. The leaked membership list suggested that their support is across a much broader spectrum of society than we all thought. A democracy means they should be heard, or least allowed to speak, but I hope that Griffin drops a clanger and they can be seen for what they are. My worry is he will put on a polished performance, dance around the core values of the party, without being too confrontational and be credible on generalist issues. I think you are right about not gaining many votes, but that is not their issue or concern at the moment, it's about being seen as normal / credible and if enough people watch and think, "He seems alright", then they will see it as a success. I'm really not sure that it's good thing at all.
